The newer Hero model is never anywhere near this cheap though.

Mine only lasted a few months before the wheel broke.

If you'd like the newer 'Hero' version cheap, your best bet is to wait until Black Friday - they normally discount Logitech products and have an Amazon Warehouse promo running at the same time.

I bought my G502 Hero the last time they ran those offers in conjunction and ended up getting it for under £35 - technically it was used, but in very good condition and I haven't had any issues with it

Im guessing this can do Copy on one button and paste on another as well as other shortcuts?

Yep. I have copy, paste, select all, find, back, forward, undo and redo set on mine.
Fantastic mouse! I own one and at this price it's a bargain!

Yes. The mouse wheel can rock left and right and act as buttons. I have mine set so that rocking it to the left is Copy and rocking it to the right is Paste.

Thanks.

This site is odd sometimes - it took hours for this to even become hot, I almost thought it wouldn't!

Weekends tend to be quieter and I suspect most people view the site in 'hot' rather than 'new' - hence why when something goes hot it usually then 'takes off'.

Interesting - I've not had any issues with mine. Which setting did you use on your scroll? The free wheeling kind or the slower scroll?

Yeah, I expected keywords and category follows to work faster though with this model. But I figured it would take off when it got hot.

I mostly just rely on keywords for finding deals (and users I subscribe to) really, plus the hottest tab. I'm probably missing loads of great deals by my regularly checking other tabs - I've seen some amazing deals go cold before too which is a shame.

I'd have thought weekends would be a bit busier with less people working, but I guess there's more people out having fun too (not needing to procrastinate online at work!).

My honest top tip is keep an eye on 'New'.
Very often the best deals land in 'new' and then are gone before they even have chance to reach 'hot'. I've bought loads like this.

Thanks. I'll have to try that.

Just can't be glued to the screen all day, unfortunately(?)!
good deal, i've had mine for two years and it is a pretty good mouse id recommend getting new skates though as aftermarket ones are loads better than the stock ones.

if you play low sensitive fps/tps games you'd be better off going for a lighter mouse though for better flicks etc as the g502 is known as a brick, im still waiting to find a cheap enough lightweight mouse worth the upgrade.

No, it's dangerous (and expensive). But do drop in to 'New' and see what's happening. Sometimes it's a daft bargain that is limited stock and goes quick.

I'm curious though. Do you normally find deals this way for stuff you knew you wanted? Or knew stuff too?

I'm just thinking that with stuff you want anyway, you're likely to know a good price.

Other stuff that's more niche, or that you weren't necessarily thinking about getting anyway, I imagine would be harder to tell if it's a good deal, without others more in the know voting it hot first...?

As we approach Christmas / Black Friday etc (pray for me), you'll start to see more and more deals appear and often you need to be quick to grab it before it's gone.

It really isn't worth the massive price hike anyway. If it was perhaps £10 more sure that would be fair although even then it isn't really worth it for what is essentially a slightly better sensor and redesgined G logo. And its not like the sensor in this 502 was bad to begin with.

Yeah, I can be like you with buying all the deals, but I'm getting better at resisting things I don't really need (though I still can't help it sometimes!). Your tip may get me in trouble with spending too much again though!

I sent a couple of replies around the same time, so not sure if you saw my other one about spotting good deals you doing necessarily know much about before they go hot?

Yes, I always use hotukdeals for stuff I want. Not just saying that because I work here, I say that as something I have done for a long time, i.e prior to working here. My downfall is a glass of wine and then buying stuff I didn't know I needed until the wine dictated I needed it. However, if it is something a bit niche I'm potentially likely to find it myself, buy it, then pop it on here. But saying that, my niche aint always someone elses niche.

True - niches vary between people.

I guess what I was asking was, since you use the "new" tab to find stuff before it gets heat... let's say it's a great deal but you don't necessarily know much about the product or what is a good price. In these cases I guess people don't know it's a great deal until other "more qualified" people vote it up. But it still might be a great deal you could take advantage of. So I was wondering if you had tips on spotting those kind of things, if that makes sense?

Yep, know what you mean. I don't (touch wood) buy things I don't want or need. I may see something rise in temperature rapidly but if I still don't need / want it then I stay clear of that 'purchase' button, unless it's such a daft bargain I'd be stupid not to buy and then it ends up either in my brothers Xmas present bag or in my (to my wifes dismay) 'But it was a bargain' box
The latter tends not to happen too much these days as we have kids.
So have never used a mouse for gaming. What sort of games do you guys use this for. I often play racing games and some shooting games and have always used a controller. Also when using this am assuming as opposed to playing with laptop on the lap one needs to play whilst sat at the table?. The reason I am looking into this is because am trying to play some old shooting games which don't have controller support so need one of these but not sure how practical they are thanks.

Not actually used it for gaming myself, so someone else will have to answer that.

But, if I'm working with a laptop on my lap, I'll use a wooden tray next to me for the mouse. You may want to invest in a gaming mouse mat too?

Thanks will wait to hear back from those who've used this for gaming as that is my primary need..
Great mouse ordered another head added... Got the last one a year ago for the same price
Awesome mouse. The many possible combinations of weight distribution combined with great hardware and software make this a stellar choice. At this price it would be rude not to. Voted hot.
I mostly play fps, pubg, csgo and I didn't get along with this mouse. The buttons were great, scroll wheel was really good, shape wasn't perfect for me, I have medium sized hands. I really didn't like the weight though its far too heavy for the games I play.

Before this mouse I had a g300s, the cheap one, loved it but the wire is rubbish. So I tried the g305 and I love it, it weighs 83g whereas this g502 weights 135g without weights. Build quality on both are great, g502 feels more premium though.

All in all, great mouse just not for me.
I would watch rocket ninja jumps YouTube videos or go to his website if you want to learn about what mouse is right for you. He has a good video about the g502.

Had mine for 2-3years, it's tiny bit to small for me(and I have avarage hands) and I second you with opinion about weight, you can play fps with it but after 30-40 minutes it feels like operating with stone not mouse...;) Am looking myself to replace it with Model 0.

Would love a model o- but overclockers don't seem to being getting any stock for a while and I don't feel like ordering oversees out of fear of having to return it as some model o's have had manufacturing defects and I might not like the shape.
