Is this for a computer? I’m confused by the Mechanical bit... I’m familiar with a mechanical typewriter but it can’t be a gaming keyboard for a typewriter, can it?

It has mechanical switches, as in - similar to ones in old computers. They used to make a lot of clicky noise, similar to a typewriter actually.
In comparison, most new keyboards use rubber dome mechanism which is quiet.

Yes, it's for a computer.

Ah OK thank you. Does it ding at the end of a line? I’m guessing not...

No, it just makes enough of clickety clack noises that will make your significant other want to strangle you 🙉
Lovely keyboard, using one now and not even for gaming, just work! But yeah, if you do lots of gaming or work in a shared house with thin walls (or in a shared room) you may want quieter keys, as these are super clicky.

Does anyone know if this is ANSI or ISO (UK) layout? The picture shows a US layout.
Logitech keyboards aren't that great, try grabbing a redragon keyboard, much better quality.
Love using these keyboards but the keys aren't very durable, had three of these (including two warranty replacements) and all suffered with the plastic mounts of the keycaps snapping in the switches, making it impossible for them to attach properly. Logitech support is excellent, but didn't have a keyboard that lasted more than 6 months before I got issues.
Nice, submitted price info to amazon, here's hoping

And as above logitech Customer support are second to none
Ive been running a G513 for a couple of years now. Love it and had no issues so far.
i have the romer g linear switches that are closer to cherry Mx reds (you can also get tactile that are similar to Mx browns). If the g512 has these options consider over gx blue if noise is a consid

Yeah I have the g513 aswell with gx blue unfortunately. I’ve ordered some o-rings to make it sound more like brown switches tho.
Showing as £58.97 now, it's also worth noting it's £59.99 in Curry's of you'd prefer to get it from there at that price
