I have this, bought it about 5 years ago but really disappointed with the flimsy thin cable that runs into the steering wheel base.
Have they improved this like adding some sort of strain relief where it enters the plastic case?
Just bought the excellent Humble Sim Driving pack and wondering if there are better quality wheels out there.
Not so much the performance but better build quality for similar price.

Of course there are. Fanatec if you want to spend £1000 plus. I paid £125 for this and once its setup its brilliant. The cable shouldnt be an issue. Even if you are constantly moving it. Family member has a full simulator fanatec setup circa £4k. This wheel is at least 70% as good. Absolute bargain for the quality

i really wish i hadnt purchased this as i dont like the fact u cant just sit it on a desk it has to mounted to a table.. which is a no got for me as i have drawers under my desk.. unless there is a way to take off the table mounts?

Mounting is the best option, but if you can't mount directly to your desk you can get stands which will go in front of your desk.

In all fairness this is about as cheap as this wheel will go and relistically you don't need the gear shifter because you'll be driving cars without a gear stick anyway. Imagine driving a Lamborghini that has paddles but want use a gear stick instead

I'm not sure I'd fancy driving a rally car with flappy paddles for a gear stick...

How's the t150 compared to this?

T150 is possibly slightly better if you already have a good one. Mine was great for a couple of weeks, then got less and less reliable because the motor is so poorly ventilated it overheated if I played for more than about 30 minutes. Would have taken it back, but I got it from Maplin about a week before they folded.

This is gear driven rather than belt driven, but they’re a good stalwart, hence there being so many old ones on eBay, as people either decide a wheel isn’t for them any more, or have got the big and upgraded to one of the really expensive ones.

The other thing to consider is what you want to play on it. T150 only has two pedals, so a bit useless for simulating anything with a manual clutch, but fine if you’re just driving super cars and F1 in games.  (edited)
