No - £49 in Argos

This is a quality bit of kit and a good price.

does anyone know if this will control a PS3?

or a V+ box?

It wont control a PS3

PS3 remote is bluetooth so as it stands it cannot control the PS3. You can buy a cheap PS3 infra red remote which will come with a infra-red dongle, this will allow some control but will not allow powerimg on from remote.

Thanks, doubted it would but would have considered buying if it did - we have too many remotes now we have got Sky and a PS3!

got this for xmas, works great with pretty much everything except the ps3 as this doesnt have IR only bluetooth. Pretty sure logitech do a higher model that would support this also. bargain at this price

voted hot, really getting frustrated with the remotes for our tv dvd etc so hopefully this will sort the lot

Don't forget you can get 1% back currently via Nectar eStores

Thanks, I've just got one for a present, heat and rep added :)

i can't find this remote on the logitech website?

It should control the V+ box fine. There is a thread discussing the top of the range harmony here ]http//ww…tml, it's a different model but the database of remotes it calls upon is the same.

I have a 555 and it's the best remote I've ever owned, I've had a few including Philips Prontos costing £100s. The setup is easy and if you get stuck (I have a complicated setup involving an AV Amp and TV, etc) you can phone their support line and they update your profile on their servers manually and you then download it direct into your remote - easy peasy! None of this 'right now select the options menu, then default configuration... etc etc etc'!

If this is half the remote the 555 is then it's a proper bargain! And to be honest it looks the same so it can't be that dissimilar!

I didn't get that until I saw it - lol!

Marmite product - I hate them - hopeless if one of the devices misses a command as the whole remote gets out of sequence and confused. I prefer remotes that do one device at a time.

But if you like them - good price.

Great Find

Agreed 555 is quality. If this is half as good then its a bargain! Shame no blutooth, but then - for this price - who cares? Just replaced 6 remotes with 1 555!

Thanks ordered and rep added

Will this work with a starview box? If it does then it'll be well worth me buying

Do they work with Sagem freeview boxes?

I've got one with a HDD, but the Sagem remotes are so **** all of the symbols have worn off of the keys ...

1. Is super saver delivery usually this slow?!

2. Can i upgrade the delivery to First Class although ive already placed the order and how much more would it cost? Edit - First class delivery is £3 and can be changed online.

3. What's the difference between this and the 525 or 555 model - other than the number of devices that can be controlled?
Cheers

The estimate the amazon give is usually wrong - the item normally arrives sooner. If you log on to your account you may be able to change the delivery.

As far as I know the 555 has 2 extra buttons and controls about 10 devices, the 525 controls 10 devices the 515 controls 5.

When you first program the remote it downloads the latest firmware. All calls to the helpline number are free and the support staff can program the remote for you if you have any issues (via the internet)

Yes it will work with anythingthat is ir. It will have to 'learn' the starview remote but its a 10 minute job.

You can usually get a 525 for a bit more than this so i would go for one of them, or get a One like me for about £80.

You need to select what device you want the remote to control, the manufacture & type in the model number. Then it will tell you if it supports it ok

Click on the arrow on the device box and select cable/satailite and pick satallite out of the 3 options

Click on the arrow on the manufacturer box and scroll down to starview and select it.

Enter your model number in the model box and click next

The 525 is approx £40 so it's about 50% more expensive. It all depends on how many devices you need to control.

you are kidding...you can buy a **** remote in asda for about £10, but they are dreadful and arent proper programmable remotes......even an original replacement remote will cost at least this amount.....often alot more

Try the US site 510 (---5 models are European variants of the --0 US/General model).
logitech.com/ind…,en

Can also find some reviews of the 510 (released 2m ago) that show it as liked BUT mispriced versus its siblings AT THAT TIME. The key issue is whether you want/have just 5 items to control.
