I guess so from the review given by a buyer on the site...

Get this!!, 1 Jan 2009

Bought this remote after just returning an "all in one" to argos as it didnt operate my av receiver or blu ray so I was a little dubious as to whether or not this one would work.

I should not have panicked, what a fantastic remote and a great price!! All you do is plug the remote into a usb port on your PC (I have a MAC and it works fine), tell the software what devices you have and load them to the remote. My av receiver wasn't recognised as I purchased it from Europe, but no problems, just send the remote commands from the original remote to the 515 and it worked fine, didn't take long at all to do.

The best thing about this remote is you can customise the keys and create activities. For example it was very simple to be on my cable box and control the volume on my av equipment without changing the remotes device to av (as you have to on most other universal remotes). As for the activities, well to play a blu ray before I had to use the tv remote to switch av, then the blu ray remote to play the disc and the AV remote to control the sound. All i do now is press activities and then "play dvd", the remote does the rest! two buttons and thats it!

Logitech don't offer different colours per model, if you want black/grey try looking at the Logitech 555 instead, although it will cost more than this obviously, and can control 15 devices. The 525 is cheaper but is Black/Silver.

You want a Harmony one. in Sleek Black gloss finish. Bit more epensive but a superb remote.

Good remote. Well worth £30.

The only things I don't like:

1) It only supports 5 devices (I think about that). So if you have more you'll need a better model.

2) No tilt function. When I tilt my 785, it lights up. With this one you have to press a "light bulb" button to light it up.

For my folks though this remote has been great.

good remote much better than what you'd typically get for a £30 universal remote on the shelves of currys/comet - but as pointed this remote only does 5 devices (fine for most) but maybe limiting for those with a full setup amps, switcher boxes, remote power adapters etc

to post 3 - yes it will do the virgin media remotes, can even add a few shortcuts so the remote does multiple commands to get to a multi EPG. My 555 seems to be a bit funny with the power toggle, it'll turn off the virgin box fine but doesn't seem to turn it back on (solution - just leave it on)

Anybody know if this would be any good for a popcorn hour.

I currently have remotes for:

Popcorn Hour
TV
Freeview Recorder
DVD/Surround Sound
Projector

and then two remotes which wont work with this as they are RF and not IR which are:

Plug sockets (cant remember brand etc, found them on here)
Projector Screen

Does anybody know of any remote which will do RF & IR - I have about a £50 budget (£60 on amazon as I have a voucher) as I am paying the extra £X just to remove the 2 RF remotes.

Just ordered this remote myself from play.

if you guys look at the bottom of the remote above there is an infra-red receiver... That means that these remotes can record the signal coming out of another remote control that it does not support and allow you to use other remote controls not on the database..... Also you can re-arrange the buttons via the computer software when you connect it to the computer.... I bought a similar model for £20 a year ago and has been in use daily...

HnR added. Thanks OP.

I have one of these remotes which is great but one thing puzzles me the back glow lights up when you aproach it or pick it up but not allways its a good thing i no but cant for the life of me understand how.:?

Picked up a Harmony ONE when they were on here at £80 a few weeks ago - best thing ever (apart from lack of PS3 control) I can finally dismantle my peepshow-style megatron

Tip for anyone with a homebrew enabled psp, theres a program called irshell that turns it into a universal remote, you just point the tv remote at the ir receiver of the psp and it learns the codes. Plus you can have unlimited profiles for different tv's.

specialise in such things.

Is there anything like this for computers?

Just some media controlling while im in bed, Video and music functions. Currently im using a wired xbox pad but would like something less floor cluttering.

Cheaper build quality and only able to program up to 12 instead of 15 devices on the 525. Can you not cancel your order or send it back under distance selling regulations within 7 days.

Good tip, but also note that only the phat psp's have infra red ports on them...

BTW - PC world some of these and will price beat Amazon - not this model though

4 months down the line, and one of the buttons stopped working...

Credit where it's due, a replacement one is now winging it's way to me. I love Logitech.

price is now 44.99
