I've got one of these, I'd thoroughly recommend it. It's great that it doesn't just switch to each device, but allows you to control them at the same time. For example, I can press channel up and it'll switch it on my freeview box, then press volume up and it'll change the volume on my amp. It has all the devices you could ever need. You can pick and choose the different functions from each device to put into an "activity".

Definitely worth £18!

All the best,
Ash

thanks used £1 voucher making it £16.99 bargain!

Great price - paid £30 for this about 2 years ago and still using it. Great that you just reprogramme it as you buy new TV, etc.

Currently using it on a Samsung TV and Sky HD box - shame that you need an add-on to the PS3 to use this remote though.

Well worth it at this price.

Possibly due to their new remote coming out later this week - amazon.co.uk/Log…IS/

Hot,

Once you get one of these, you won't look back. They really are good.
I have the 555 model which operates the tv, pvr, amp, bluray, and xbox - same as what this model can do.

Been after one of these for a while! heat added

Is it only me that thinks this new one looks damn ugly, no LCD, cheap looking, shiny black plastic, and too many buttons? It just looks a complete mess.
I think Logitech may have made cost cuttings in the design department.

I have one of these and it is the dogs ********, i love it

I would get one of these, but it does not have an IR Learning function like the 555 has...

The Infra Red Learning function is invaluable for assigning particular functions...

Not just that, it's a step backward not having customisable text LCD buttons to help you not to have the memory of an elephant to remember those commands that won't program on the regular buttons.

It makes it no better than the cheap remotes from Aldi or Lidl, or One4All remotes....awful.

Many thanks, been wanting one for ages.

This is maybe a daft question - but do I need the old remotes to be working in order to tune this one in. Looking to buy it as remote control for tv / digibox isn't working. But something tells me that the old remote has to be working to tune it in ???

I was just about to post this!! Beat me too it!! lol

Great deal...am very tempted to get one!!!

No, you dont need the old remotes.

You tell the logitech software what equipment you have and it downloads all the codes from the logitech database

No, you don't need the old remotes. Harmony works from a database of devices programmed via web. It's comprehensive, but if yours isn't there, just give logitech a call.

Totally agree!!! Come on Logitech!!! :x

Is this the model you can programme your sony blu ray with to make it region free?

Hi,

I have a sony remote which is similar, but it can 'learn' from other remotes. I'm too lazy to look up the specs (which is also why i'm too lazy to get up and turn the lights on and off - they're infrared controlled now) - can this do the same? That way i can program my lights in too...

Um, yes it does. I've got a 515 and a Harmony One, and both support learning. Just checked on Wikipedia and their article is a bit misleading on the subject, so maybe there's some misinformation out there?

Just ordered. Been looking off and on for a good universal remote for a while and just couldn't resist at this price (especially with the extra £1 off from McDonald's voucher!)

Heat & rep added!

Is there a mute button for when the wife is nagging me for spending more money on gadgets ?

I got a harmony remote and have been very disappointed. It is a lot slower and you often have to push buttons twice only for that action then to be repeated twice eventually which is frustrating. In addition the batteries need changing monthly which is rediculous. Voted cols

Hi, can someone elaborate please ? I'd love to buy one of these but I use my PS3 quite extensively as a media player so I'd need it to be able to control that too.

Thanks

Great price. Have the harmony one and can honestly say
these logitech remotes are excellent.

Great price. is it better than Logitech Harmony 300i?

Great find

If you're having to press things twice then there's something wrong with your setup. There are plenty of setup options and things that can be tweaked if you're having specific problems. I was confident enough in its abilities to buy one for my dad at Christmas and he loves it and is controlling 4 devices with it.

Also, I've had my 515 for over a year now and have only changed the batteries once, and that's with a six year old using it a lot to flick around their channels!

There seems to be confusion. Could someone who has THIS remote confirm whether it does have learning facility or not ?

Thanks

Already got it, great price, heat added.

Probably depends on what you're after. I haven't looked at the 300 in detail, but the loss of the LCD screen will be a big thing for many people. Bear in mind that the 515's RRP is £60 whereas the 300 is on Amazon for £30 and it's not even released yet. At this price you'd struggle to beat the 515.

Yes it does.
It's thru the software.
You can learn from any remote or setup up shortcut however you want them.

I have this remote. It does learn. Take a look on Google images and you'll see an infrared learning port at the bottom of the device.

There's probably something wrong with yours.

I've had one for 2 years, and never had that problem. In fact, it works better than the original remotes.

The PS3 uses bluetooth to control everything. You need to get the 'E-R0001'

'The Harmony E-R0001 is an IR to Bluetooth adapter for the PS3.'

This will basically plug into your PS3 and allow you to use Logitech infra red remotes to control Blu-rays and music files.

Yes this defniatly does have the learning function. See the black mark on the bottom of the remote, thats the IR reciever for training it.

Once you get it set-up, the forums on AVforums or even the ones on logitechs website are very very helpful, its brilliant. I just hit one button and the tv comes on, the amp comes on. Press the watch Video button, it turns on the Media player, switches tv input, switches amp input. its really great and a bargain at the price.

Wait.......................

I have IR controlled plug sockets, the brand is "Home Easy" and I bought them in B&Q....

Can this remote also control these????

My rubbish One4All remote cannot...

Just ordered mine, and got 2 quid off courtesy of McDonalds!
