Given its budget price, the Harmony 525 has functionality that would have been expected on a remote costing four or five times the amount a few years ago.

Great little remote, I love mine.
Easy to program A+

Sold out in my local store

Tempting but £7 is a lot for delivery

Had mine for a couple of years, worth every penny of the £50 it cost me, so bargain at this price

Got this for £30 in-store not long ago...

What does it control on the Wii?

not much, although a wii mote doesnt control much either

im temped by this at this price, are there better models tho?

Got one last week from Richer. Some of the buttons are suprisingly plasticy and the presets a bit odd (for Humax PVR and Hanspree TV) so needed a couple of hours tweaking. Software is good and remote is well laid out -Im starting to see why people like it so much. Learning functions useful unless you've lost the original remote!

is this really the best price? i got a 555 for £27 from logitech and the 515 for about £20 from amazon i think.. this isn't a great deal, if not in a hurry, wait maybe.

also this whole series is EOL and replaced by e.g.
amazon.co.uk/Log…e_2

which doesn't look any easier, actually looks harder to use to me.
haven't used the new ones.

525 is a good remote, maybe the price is going up if people don't like the new models?
then there's keeping consistency, you may want the same type for all your TVs, a problem if you currently have some of these models.

Getting a bit dated now, but a great price for a great remote

On my samsung tv I have to cycle through the various inputs until I get to the one I want ... would this remote allow me to jump to the right input straight away as its a right pain.

Cheers
Fin.

Certainly for some devices it has options available which the original remote does not, so for my Sony I can set it to go directly to the input, rather than cycling through.

Bought this months ago after seeing this deal on Hotukdeals, great remote. Wife prefers it to the Harmony One we used to have due to it having 'proper' red, yellow, blue and green buttons.

Bought this for £30 few months ago - works great with all my stuff.

That was four months and one week ago.
I thought there was a 30 day rule on new posts - and I did check and saw the one you mentioned.
Didn't expect to get a repost comment relating to a post that old though.

It is if you can't find one cheaper

I;ve got a 515 which my 15 month old daughter has managed to pull the power button off so so will be a good replacement.

almost certainly. from my experience with samsung tvs. the only tv i haven't been able to make work reliably is a weird Acer which uses nested groups of input cycles.

Just bought a second one. Had my first one for a couple of years. These remotes are fantastic. I don't think anyone would put up with having all the separate remotes again after you have had one of these. Don't be put off by the fact it looks like a lower model, my dad has one of the colour screen versions that have a charging cradle and I really wouldn't bother paying the extra for it.

I have one! Definately recomend.

Saw this in Maplins today for £35

And? ... This is £29.95 instore.
Which is what I bought mine for this afternoon (2 left in Newcastle store FYI)

Works spot on... controls my Amp, WD TV Live, TV, SkyHD & 360 with no problems... and the macros all worked fine with only minor tweaking needed for Sky.

Even better for me is that it changes the TV directly to the source needed ... where previously (even with samsung remote) I had to skip through each input until I found the one I wanted.

Would recommend to anyone.

Just saying, pick up from local Maplins or if no Richersounds nearby pay £36.94 to have it delivered. I know what i would do.

Ahh right fair point mate

hi, i've got a sony bravia ex503, plus virginHD a 360 and Sony Blu ray player.
when i stick a dvd in the sony bluray the tv finds it but when i turn on the 360 i have to manually find the input on the tv.

are you saying if i get one of these it wll change all the fafffin around? you can programme the controller to do all the input changing?

Got one today thanks!

I got one of these the last time this was posted on HUKD for £29.99 and I have to say this control is amazing! I have used about 10 different all in ones before and none of them came close to this.

You program in activities I.E. "Watch TV" which will turn on your TV, AV Receiver, set top box all at once and it even changes the channel and and presets so one button press does the lot!

Get one! these are amazing

Note that these are task orientated (more "I want to play a DVD" so you don't have to do the thinking yourself) which results in some downtime whilst you program it, online, via the pc. Also the buttons fade over time, but that can be corrected by splitting the thing in two with a knife and sticking little bits of aluminium foil over the buttons.

Not voted either way, I just thought that as the original post hasn't expired there was no need for a new one. Didn't know about the 30 day rule and not sure if it's a goog idea as some people might just start searching for scorching hot deals that are just over 30 days old and repost them.

Picked up one of these last month for a smidge under £40 from RicherSounds.
Great remote, although, it does feel a little flimsy. The ease of use and functionality & compatibility outweigh this though

Anyone know of a remote with the functionality of the Harmony that also works with a PS3 (without the need to purchase additional hardware, e.g. Logitech Harmony Adapter for Playstation 3).

anyone no how to set this up for a sony bravia kdlex503?

Now sold out! Was originally looking for the 525 but my local store only had a demo one for sale which they weren't willing to sell for any less than a new one! Now all stores are sold out as none available online! Shame a good remote, now purchased the 700!
