Virgin media uses RF for V6 box so you won't be able to use that for a start.

Though I would also get it with the remote as the app can get a bit fidgety.
I have the smart hub with remote and the only time I use the app on the phone Is for updating and the initial set up.

It even works with my nVdia Shield which doesn't have RF and is Bluetooth only for its remote.

Also This says that it should work the same as the TIVO box:
V6 Box and Logitech

Unless its a crappy unknown brand it should work with 99.99% Home entertainment / MEDIA Players / etc etc systems.
I'd prefer broadlink RM. As above RF is really useful and with android box works out at same price. I can control all those cheapo wireless sockets, I can control my fire, curtains and blinds around the house, connect to my pi which opens my observatory roof. Can't do none of that shit with this.
Amazon has had this at £69.99 for months!

Does it support Google home?

Yes it does but you need to add shortcuts..
Eg once you set it up to say turn on activity or turn on something - you have to say ‘Ok Google ask Harmony to turn on TV’ - but you can set up shortcuts within Google Assistant so if you say OK google turn on TV it will turn it on. Etc etc
So to answer your question - yes

I've been using it with rf since the v6 came out. The v6 box does both, it even works with the old TiVo remote. The only thing rf adds is the not having to point and a handy can't find the remote locator, both of which this hub removes the need for.
