You must have had a dodgy one - my battery life lasts for well over a week and even then i only dock it once a week out of habit. Remote works perfectly fine for me and fits my needs - not a major AV enthusiast but it saves me having to use three remotes to select different inputs on difference devices etc.

I would recommend personally - also ties in with Alexa nicely

I'd suggest that if you are going to advise people of what equipment they need, you should avail yourself of the facts first...
As said above, the retired product is a different product (Logitech actually provided free versions of this hub to replace it) and the Echo is utterly unsuitable to act as a substitute for this.

Logitech have discontinued the Link Hub.

This is completely different, and is not being phased out.

It's also a completely different product to the Echo, so you can't really compare the two.

£100 for a fancy tv remote? Really?

Probably not the thread for you then.

This specific model no longer appears on logitech website (only the Elite).

Is this better or worse than the Elite?

Heat added, even though I'm just after the hub by itself.

The echo has no IR blasters, so no, this is bull.

I bought this when it was previously on offer at this price. Took me a while to get everything set up but it's a great bit of kit. Made 8 remotes redundant. Not really sure why the cold votes.

Battery life is no issue at all, you must have had a faulty one. Mine can be off the charger for a week without any issues whatsoever

I have both and can only agree, Elite is better all round.
This was also £99 just before Christmas, I was very tempted to buy one but didn't. It then went up to £229 for a while, but I found one on the Amazon warehouse for £72 which I ordered....it didn't work, the remote was faulty so I contacted Logitech who said the item I bought had been registered in 2015 so was out of warranty and also had been registered FOUR times all together!

I returned the item to Amazon and bought a new one for £99 on the 1st Feb, so far it has been great and also works with Alexa (most of the time). Overall well worth £99.
What's going on here, I used to look up here as best and honest reviews source, exactly same deal from 1st of February has minus 34.
What this is about?
every harmony remote i've had, the buttons slowly die over a few years. a couple of times its happened within 2 years so they've replaced them. good customer service but the products dont last that long.
I'd recommend the companion remote instead of the ones with screens. Battery lasts 6 months plus
Why is everyone saying the battery is rubbish? It comes with a charging dock which works really well
These are great, I have this one and a previous model. The only problem I have found is they are no longer keeping up with the new TV models. I have a new 4k LG TV which is not supported, my son has a recent Panasonic 4K TV which is also not supported. So keep this in mind if you buy one of these remotes.
i have a old one in drawn for 5 years if anyone wants to make a offer?

eeeek. The LG could well be the same TV I bought the remote for a week or two ago (when I was told it was a time limited special 20% off promotion just for me). Didn't think to check but the product remains unopened for now...

I'm getting obsessed with integrating things with Alexa and quite frankly (an age thing?!) struggling, when they are used in the dark, to have finger/muscle memory for all the different smart remotes now!

I've had one of these for a couple of years now, and up until the last 2-3 months it's been great.

Since the last couple of firmware updates though, the remote waits for 10 seconds after being pressed to start/end/switch an activity before actually sending a command. It doesn't matter if I use the remote unit, or a phone (so my guess is that it's a hub problem).

Logitech have confirmed my fault, but after suggesting on Monday that the latest firmware should have solved the issue, I'm afraid it's still a problem.

Gutted really, as It's great bit of kit when it worked properly.
I can roll back to the previous firmware and it all works fine, but it's a pain in the butt being reminded to update firmware each time you pick up the remote, and the older firmwares don't support the latest Alexa update where you no longer have to say "Ask Harmony to...".
Excellent, "returning" the one i bought at £130 and purchasing it again at £99. Brilliant controller, and works well with Alexa

I thought the Alexa issue was just the skill available. In America they have two skills, the basic one we have plus a much better one where you can skip the tell Harmony part of the command.

Not really sure. Once I'd updated the Harmony firmware, I checked the Alexa store, and there was a 2nd skill called just "Harmony" (in blue) along with the Red "Harmony - secondary hub" one. That enables me to say "Alexa turn on Sky Sports Football" or "Alexa, turn on Sky Living" etc. Not sure if the 2nd app was always there or not, but I no longer needed to say "Ask Harmony to...".

Sadly, the delays just make it kind of unusable.

Yours must have been faulty had one of these for 3 years (bought for £79.00 on a Black Friday deal) and have NEVER had any problems with the battery life or anything else. I would say it’s an excellent remote.

I'm surprised they "no longer" keep up with support of newer TVs. Although the Ultimate is an old model, they are still making the newer ones such as the Elite and Companion and I would have thought all would have the same compatibility - they work off the same hub.

Perhaps they are slower than they used to be at getting new devices in the database. Presumably you can get it to work but with huge faff to manually set up.

Im still very happy with my Ultimate, with no battery issues. There have been about four occasions over the past three years that it has frozen, needing plugging into the computer to reset. I'm willing to sort that, but it would be four times too many if my parents had it. I got them a Companion for its number buttons and absence of screen.

For both, it was well worth doing that extra bit of tweaking on top of the basic setup e.g. adding a few exits and alternative power commands to help iron out unexpected device behaviour.

Not supporting specific models and not updating their library are two different charges.
The first may well be true, the 2nd is false.

This has been £99 for many weeks now, but I'm still not sure it's worth the upgrade from my trusty 650! (I suppose voice commands would be nice... but not £99 nice)

I had this and liked it, but it's annoying having some buttons above the little screen. I managed to get the elite, which has all the buttons below the screen, for a decent deal so upgraded and do prefer it. This is not bad for the price.

What model LG do you have?

My model is 55UJ750v, but I take back my comment, tried again a couple of days ago, and yes the model was there, so hats off to Logiteck for keeping up to date.

Can this work with shield, TV, ps4, hue light. This would be good to only one controller.

What else can it do?
Those who have this:

1. Can you control multiple TVs?
2. How do you find the Alexa skill
