This was £99 on black Friday week until on BF itself they whacked up the price to £229!

Considering it was £70 several times at this point last year and it might also be discontinued now, I thought it might have been a bit cheaper than a hundred.

Unlike the Elite when it was on offer, there is also no deal involving the Echo dot.
Good deal imo.

It’s irrelevant if it’s discontinued or not. It’s cheaper than elsewhere and does pretty much everything the elite does at a fraction of the price.
don't you get hub aswell?

Of course it's not irrelevant, discontinued or end of line stock is often sold at a discount. The recent Xbox 1 going for £90/125 being a case in point.

For the record, I don't think this is a poor deal, just the high number of better deals previously and the fact it might not be manufactured anymore means I thought it might be a better deal price than this.

Did you get the hub included prior, this is £70 alone (or £50) on deal so this is HOT imho!

Yes, the hub version was £64 in March this year, it was £69.99 5 or 6 times last november/December in Lightning deals.

I may be asking too much but was expecting something around the £70 - £80 mark considering it's been 35% cheaper than the current price this year.

Definitely hot for me. Once you've lived with the Harmony + hub for a while and use it properly its practically indispensible. I really now only have one remote on my coffee table to do just about everything. The others are in the drawer for the rare occasions when I do need them (like when I've left the Harmony out of the dock a couple of nights and it's run out of power!)

Hey, with the hub, it works with non-infrared controlled Amazon FireTV sticks too - and that's just awesome!

I did buy mine 2 xmas's ago for £79 mind, but if then it was only down to £99 I'd still have got it and still would not have regretted it.

The only thing I'd get as an alternative (if it was a good enough deal) would be the more expensive Harmony Elite/Pro, simply for the fact that the player controls are in a better place, not ABOVE the screen as they are on the Ultimate.

Is this a solid remote? I want one but also have an 18 month old son who also likes playing with remotes
Heat! The hub works with Alexa products and you get a great touchscreen handset as well.

Right now the hub on it's own is about £70 so you get the handset for £29. Agree £80 would have been lovely but for under £100 it still represents great value especially when you go back a few hours later and realise it's sold out; happened to me on something else last week.
HOT from me.

Are you under the impression I said there are deals around now that are £70?

It was £69.99 several times last year around BF week, although for reasons I can't explain, they don't appear to be listed on hukd anymore. There'll be hukd'ers out there that will have got it at that price. I remember this because I ummed are arrrred and nearly bought it about 3 different times, and when I finally did try to buy I was placed on the lightning deal reserve list and ultimately lost out. My own stupid fault, I know.

This was £79 even way back in 2015 during black Friday week, and those deals are still listed on hukd. It's also been £64 in March this year, that is linked to by zhris above.

The 2015 price of £79 would have been good enough for me, but £99 is just a touch too much for my liking, others may think different.

Fine, I'm wrong, lying or mistaken, whatever you want to choose. It's not my intention to purposely mislead people.

Anyway, people should be more interested in the much cheaper price it's been since then, and that is verifiable.

Here's one of the times it was under £70

wow that really is an amazing deal. I bought at £100 got it yesterday and I have to say its way better than the other harmony I have used. Can all be set with the phone app and picked up nearly all my devices just from the wifi.

Had to disable CEC control to get it working properly, but now just to figure out how to get it working with Alexa as its been very hit and miss so far with that

Very nice, still worth it at £100 in my view, its used alot. I haven't setup with Alexa, but Google was a breeze. However I actually never touch the physical remote, and rarely use the app now, I built my own app using Tasker on Android. Since I can process any voice command I want, it's more powerful. For example I have integrated a TV guide web service, can say "watch programme the chase", it will check if it's on now or soon, then change to the most suitable channel. If you are looking to go a step further, definitely check out Tasker and it's Harmony plugin

got to say having battled with Alexa to get this working, google home has been a breeze. May well swap my dots for homes...
