Had this for a couple of years myself and its a great piece of kit. It also now works correctly with Alexa too via the Harmony Blue app.

Just so people know the difference between the Ultimate and the Elite.

The advantages of Harmony Elite over the Harmony Ultimate are

1. Playback buttons (Play, Pause, etc.) are below the screen. (Ultimate they are above)

2. Harmony Elite Hub comes with more internal memory than Ultimate. (In practice makes no difference)

3. Dedicated Home Control buttons to control Home Automation Devices. (2 extra buttons)

Nice, wish it was the Elite though.

Its pretty much the same thing tbh. It hasn`t got the dedicated light buttons but as with most Harmonys you can program them anyway.

The elite got down to £130 last year so maybe again this year.

Wait for the Elite to drop on Black Friday, it's usually around £120

Not as good as it has been in the past (around £60 IIRC), but it's closest I've seen in a while as I've been thinking about upgrading my current harmony remote.

Could always get this, choose a late delivery date if you can and then cancel should it come on offer.

Just me or anyone else think that player controls at the top of a remote is just wrong?

Been Waiting for the Harmony Elite to drop in price but might bite the bullet on this one..

Do they both use the same hub? I know that the Ultimate comes with V1 Hub but not sure whether the Elite uses a more up to date one?

The Hubs are identical, they only make one version. What may be confusing you is the number of devices you can add which is a software restriction according to which remote you have.

The 950 that comes in the Elite pack is a much better ergonomically as well as screwed together better. I had a Touch for several years, after after using their original models for many years before that, which is essentially the same remote as in the Ultimate pack and was never entirely happy with it, the best I could say is I got used to it. You'd think from the shape that they tried to make it more ergonomic but it is just awkward and traditional shaped remotes like the 950 work much better.

The Touch screen is also far better on the 950, much more responsive and you can press the 'buttons' with confidence.

Only criticism I'd make of it is the Activities and Devices touch buttons at the bottom of the screen are a bit too close to the FF and RW hard buttons so easy to hit by mistake, not a biggy though once you realise it happens.

I got my Elite on Prime Day for £113 so would say hang on if you can. FYI the Ultimate is a current product anymore so there maybe some bigger bargains ahead if you want to gamble...I'd still go for an Elite though

Does this actually work now? I still thought was only for US users? Dont suppose you have any info/links on this as the 'Tell Harmony to......' is flipping annoying!

The blue skill is in private beta in the UK at the moment so should be out soon. It works well, I've grouped my downstairs Hue lights and Harmony Hub together so can say "Turn off downstairs" and all turn off, you can switch activites etc but I'd rather use the remote!

Once you get used to it its fine and doesn't present any problems for me.

I didnt see it in any Beta. I regularly check the skilsl section and it was just in there. Admittedly I could have been lucky but all the people who I know who have compatible products also are able to use it.

Private beta, not public.

Surely if it was a private beta it would be selective people, not everyone who I know who has it? A public beta would make more sense if that was the case.

Comes complete with the hub.

Thinking of purchasing this myself to rid 3 remotes and to integrate all the other smart tec, HotUKDeals shows off for me to purchase.

Must admit a bargain at this price, however the gamble is do I wait for the Elite or shrug my shoulders.

Yet I have an Ultimate that controls all my hue lights? It just needed a firmware update.

Actually, must be wrong, the Amazon ad says it works with Alexa and controls Hue lights I had an Ultimate before my Elite and it couldn't do smart devices, they must have updated the hub.

You can't add smart home functions to the remote unless you have the hardware buttons and even then they can only be added to the smart home buttons. However, you can add them to the app and control them that way and then through Alexa.

I think Amazon have worded it like that because these were produced before it was a feature so won't be mentioned on the box etc. The hub I got with my Elite has had several firmware updates, usually to add more smart home devices, and the one with this will be no different.

I am giving it an hour as seems sometimes linking/changing skills seems to take a while to 'bridge' - not really sure how can be user error really as in effect nothing to do bar linking the Alexa/Harmony account and then saying 'Watch TV' or 'Turn on TV' which is shown clearly on the log as exactly what is being said?

Changed instantly for me, never had to wait for any changes despite getting the warnings.

You didn't mention whether you did the latest firmware update or not?

Can replace the Virgin media remote? Currently have a TV remote, VM remote, amp remote, soon to be 4k player probably shield TV too. Can this effectively control them all?
Missed out on this deal last time!

Give it a day or 2 - the elite will be £129.99 in their deals soon... (always is black Friday - I usually sell my older one for more than that and buy a new one to extent the warrantee :)).

Either:

I couldnt find any enabled video skills go to the music video and books section of the alex app and enable the vidoe provider you want and then link your account to enable set up

or OK and nothing happens

I did notice they'd appeared in there though I don't remember running discover again it after installing but before they worked.

My issue with Alexa at the moment is I can Drop in on both my Echos from the app but trying to do it from the Echos they deny each other exist. That and I haven't got the create new lists function yet.

Had you used the original red skill? Seem to remember I had them both when setting the blue one up and then removed it after. No logic it would make a difference but heh.

I also had to do the enable and account linking twice because it didn't stick the first time, maybe yours is still there.
