I've been in the market for this mouse recently and can't find it any lower than £60. Absolutely top notch mouse, easily one of the best I've used.

Here it is on logitech's website for more info: logitech.com/en-…845

Nice mouse ordered one yesterday via Logitech VIP club for a little bit more - I agree good price, not as good as the recent Amazon one but leaves me a bit gutted

Excellent mouse, i bought two one for me one for my son at xmas when they were £35 from PC World, highly recommended.

Good price as they have gone back up to £80 at most places now.

Hmmm... I decided to order but Argos' site is being stupid and won't let me order it??

Says I can 'order into store to collect Mon 13th - Thur 16th February', but when I try to reserve one, it incorrectly says 'out of stock' on the reservation page and I don't get any reservation number? Oh well...

To be honest, I think £42.99 is still overpriced for this mouse - this was selling in PC World, Amazon, Currys etc. for £34.99 not long ago. Probably best to wait a bit and it will come down in price again. When you consider that it doesn't even have a charging dock, carry case etc. the RRP of this mouse is totally overpriced - can see the price tumbling, especially as a lot of people who had the MX Revolution seem to think the Performance MX is a step backwards.

I'll probably get it when it hits £35 again.

Same happened with me after multiple attempts to order it for collection from various different stores. There has also been no stock available for local delivery. This has been the case since the deal was posted on here. Did anyone manage to successfully order one of these?

I think the availability is very limited. It didn't work the first time but a couple of days later it was available for store pickup.

I was lucky and managed to order one recently when amazon went down to £35...still waiting for it. ETA 4/3/12

I feel that this looks to be alot more comfortable then the Logitech Anywhere MX as it has more of an arch, i wish i had gone with one of these rather than the Anywhere MX, but i agree that these should cost no more than £35. There are still better mouse out there but not at the price. I'm kinda interested in the Cyborg R.A.T - 9 Wireless Mouse made by Madcatz of all people, they've never been known for there quality products for games consoles, perhaps its different for PC? But i'm asking myself if i really need something like this as i don't game with keyboard and mouse so its probably overkill, other alternative's are the new Logitech Touch Mouse theyve just launched, does anyone have any knowledge on these new Touch Mouses, are they going to become the standard? Are they very accurate?

ive had both the revolution and performance.

Both are good - the revolution had a charge cradle rather than the performance mouse's stupid fiddly usb connector. However the performance has a removable /replaceable standard aa rechargeable battery whereas the revolution was a sealed unit - and that was its achilles heel as the battery in mine died - my revolution lasted 2 months pat the warranty - i complained to logitech and they sent me the performance - great service

The performance seems to track better - think the buttons on mine have worn a bit now - though its about 2 years old

great all rounder mouse

the thing that seals it for me is the thumb rest - simple idea but brilliant - most noticable when you use a standard carp mouse

i have a 3 button standard hp optical mouse, logitech vx nano mouse, microsoft Laser 6000 mouse and several other logitech, MS, etc mice but the performance mouse is 1000 times better

So Solid Jedi

imo the Logitech Anywhere MX is s**t compared to this mouse - th performance mouse is the best all round mouse - its even ok for gamers, though serious gamers would use a wired mouse anyway

I had the same problem as Master_Yoda. It said I could order for collection between the 25th and 28th so I did, but I just got an email saying "Out of stock" and no reservation number was included.

A very very good mouse... bought when £40 at PCWorld in Jan

That said...

When compared to the Revolution mouse, which I've had for £25
1. This Perfomance MX Darkfield mouse comes with a free mains-usb adaptor, and a MicroUSB cable, handy for owners of many phones.
2. Battery Life. This fancy Darkfield tech needs more juice than plain old laser. Those extra charging cables, the bonus USB extension cable and even an included neoprene pencilcase are there for a reason! It's never let me down though, so maybe the battery meter is cautious like the fuel-guage in my car, but still, it's days or weeks, not months.
3. This mouse is larger than the cheaper Revolution, to accommodate a handy button under the left of your thumb, but is actually lighter- because it only uses one AA battery. (The Revolution uses two AAs and would last months)
4. This mouse works on glass! Until I tried it, I didn't realise how smooth this felt. It wasn't a skitty feeling, like a Formica veneer or wood top, but rather a slight resistance, always constant, a pleasure. A 12" square glass sheet has become my mouse-mat of choice.
5. If you won't use it on glass, then the Revolution Laser mouse works well on most normal surfaces is is far cheaper. I actually prefer the side scroll on the cheaper mouse, but there isn't much in it.
6. This pricey mouse has a tiny dongle, handy to leave in laptop, would always loose the bigger dongle when taking the laptop places.
7. Logitech's software allows more functions to be mapped to this mouse than to others, including a Mac-OS-style 'Expose' app switcher for Windows.

I won't get a mouse without a free-scrolling wheel now. Logitech's customer support is very good and fuss-free.
I've had some mildly disappointing Logitech products (like the £10 Laser mouse in a Tescos basket that was like a normal optical) so I can't say that all their stuff is fantastic, but I haven't regretted it when i've spent more. I'm Microsoft make good mice- it's just that I haven't had chance to find out.

EDIT: I've realised that the mouse I'm comparing to the Darkfield Performance MX isn't called the Perfomance MX but some daft number like '519' but can't remember exactly what.

According to the website I can reserve this at my local store, but after I click on place reservation it says thanks and below it says out of stock........

must be an amazing mouse!

Yeah this isn't working for me now, neither was it working when it was first posted. Expire?

I've been trying to order on my PC every other day since the deal was first posted and no joy.

However yesterday I tried using the iphone app, went thru the same rigmarole of no stock anywhere but on the app it allowed me to order and I now have a reservation number saying I can pick up on Monday 27th Feb. :-) I'll post back if it all goes to plan but others may wish to try using the iphone app too...

Did you get the reservation number straight away?

Yes, immediate reservation number on the app followed by an email shortly after and a text too.

Ah i just got a email, no reservation email.

Btw did it say its in stock at your local store before you ordered or did it say it'll be ready to collect on the e.g 25th-27th?

Ah well just ordered it from the Logitech Vip Store.

Are these particularly good ?
(I have just had a logitech G5 die and they won't sell me the wire I need).
Everything none wired I have had upto this point has been utter garbage.
(Otherwise I will probably get a Razer Imperator)

Yes, the latter, originally told would be ready to collect Monday 27th to Wed 29th but then got a text on Friday 24th saying now ready to collect. I picked it up yesterday and am using it now. :-)

Early impressions are very good with one caveat. I have a three monitor setup and it glides effortlessly across all 3 screens, it's very fast and responsive and I love the extra buttons, especially the app/window switcher as I'm always switching between different programs.

Packaging and presentation are consistent with a premium product, there's a nice little travel bag included which contains a USB-to-mini-HDMI charging lead, UK 3-pin plug and a USB WiFi receiver extender cable.

The caveat is that I like to work with mouse DPI set to its maximum setting and I couldn't for the life of me find how to adjust this from the included docs or Logitech "SetPoint" control panel. After some Googling I discovered you can temporarily change one of the buttons to control Mouse Sensitivity and thus set it to maximum. It seems very poor from Logitech that it doesn't explain in the manuals how to do this.

Overall though a great product and a bargain at this price even if occasionally it has been available for a little cheaper.

got this £34 early this yeat at PCWORLD, damned good so far
