Not true unfortunately. This is for older iPods that had the headphone socket in the centre of the top, as there was a remote connector next to it. The kit allows remote control of the iPod for changing tracks. Think of the original iTrip and how it connected.

This kit will only work with iPods 4th Gen and earlier, as well as iPod Minis. It won't work with the Nano, Video, Classic, iPhone and Touch range.

Great if you've got an older iPod though. It seems to be this type of connector...

But eBuyer show the connection like this, without the second connector.
I'm confused already!

Here pbcentral.com/col…tml
it says "its usefulness extends to any device that outputs sound via a 1/8" (3.5mm) stereo minijack"
"The plug is affixed on a sliding mount so you can align the unit more or less center atop any iPod"
"performed very well when transmitting from both my 5G iPod "

Aaah! I also stand corrected. However, I am curious how the remote would work then if it's just jacked into the 3.5mm socket...

There is no remote, though eBuyer refer to one, in practice there's no need for one, the ipod or other mp3 player is the remote!

Thanks for this,

You would use the Ipod as the remote!

I have one of these and it works really well. The unit that plugs into the hifi does have "remote control" type buttons on it, but they only work when connected to a logitech PC bluetooth gadget (can't remember the name) - that then lets you control the pc music from the basestation.

Hi people... Do I need an additional jack lineout cable to connect the receiver to the speaker system (in this instance a set of Logitech z5500's)?
