Not sure why this is expired - I've just ordered one okay.

Yes equally totally puzzled how this could be expired (it's got a week to go) or spammed (it isn't) though personally don't know how to undo the bad flagging done by someone
PS: I asked those nice people at HUKD and it became un-exp un-spam'd =

Great deal for this

Where do I find the voucher code? Has it been removed?

The HUKD interface includes the voucher link in SMALL PRINT just under the banner title/heat-thermometer. Still got 6 more days to use it

Thanks, great deal. Got mine ordered.

hotter than a really hot thing.
Go buy one of these, they are superb. If you don't know what they are go here slimdevices.com/pi_…tml

Just been reading around and seen this:
"This is my third squeezebox, but my first boom. It is great, very neat and gives an excellent sound. Note that it doesn't work with of slimserver, it requires squeezecenter 7.2 or higher. This is a problem for me because I'm using a ported version of slimserver on my WD MyBook NAS box.
I would also welcome a larger display.I still love it though. "

Nice deal. I've been tempted to get one of these for ages. I'm just thinking were'd i'd put it. The kitchen would be best but I generally don't spend long enough in there.

Can you please tell me which room you do spend sufficient time in?

I think we all need to write which rooms we go in, why and for how long. Then we can calculate which room the average person would put the 'internets box' in.

Cheers, my Logik internet radio broke last week, perfect timing

This problem will only affect people using a WD Mybook NAS as their Slimserver server. If you use a PC or almost any other NAS as your server then you won't have a problem. Fantastic device.

Fantastic! Been thinking of buying one of these for a while.

i have a question... where does the boombox get its music from? Does it play it from the HDD on my pc/laptop, over the network? Just wondering, because then I will have to keep my beast of a machine running, which my wife really finds annoying

Mega Price for a great piece of kit, HOT HOT HOT

Correct, music is served from your PC/laptop/NAS. I use a completely seperate machine for my music which has no monitor connected. I also use the WOL facility so that the machine is only on when it's required - if there is no network activity for 15 minutes it shuts itself down until the Boom/Squeezebox/Duet wakes it up.
]
You can also use an online MP3Locker if you wish then you have no need to have a pc running as your music is streamed from your locker.
You can also stream online radio stations to the Boom.

HOT - ordered

Yep, for your information it would be the living room or the room with this computer in it which already has all of my digital music and connectivity for internet radio.

great price, i've bought 2

voted hot!

Great deal - this also comes with an inbuilt wireless bridge, i.e. great for Xbox 360, other non wireless network devices, etc.

This is what this forum is all about- this really is a HOT deal.

Waving feeble justification flag... I bought it too.. couldn't resist! I love my Squeezebox 3 so much.

Although this item is now out of stock it's still in my basket and has now been reduced to £154.94 and with the £50 off voucher still appearing to be valid it's making it £104.94.

Bargain, I've just ordered another one for the kitchen! I'm quite happy to wait a month or two at that price...

Amazon have just sent me an e-mail saying that this will be arriving sooner then expected and it will be costing me £104.94

did anyone actually get these yet?
Mine is still on backorder
and it was from eu..... .co.uk had the lower price last time I looked, but that was well after the end date

Grrr pita waiting when .co.uk had stock

When the original offer was posted I left mine in my basket with the voucher added for about a week. The priced then dropped and it said back in stock in quite a few weeks but it actually came back in stock very quickly and I got it for £104.

Very good piece of kit. Although if I have any criticism it's that you have to work a bit too much of it out yourself. It doesn't tell you a lot of the stuff in the instructions, like that you have to install and switch to the Squeeze Center software if you want to stream music to it and if you just want to listen to the radio you have to switch to Squeeze Network. All of the sound settings are adjusted by SN too. You have to login online to change the bass and treble etc.

If anyone has problems setting up one of these then just go to forums.slimdevices.com/ where a very helpful community will sort you out. There's also a much better manual to download at slimdevices.com/doc…php

Unfortunately as mine was a rather extravagent Mothersday Present for my better Half (told my 10-yearold it was ok he'd only have to pay half rofl.... Like I was doing him a massive favour hehe ...you should have seen his face .....), I didn;'t want to get caught checking it out further , and was happy to just wait the month.... but when i did check, the price was lower on .co.uk, but was too late for the voucher.... tbh I hadn't realised it was on .eu when I ordered because it said amazon... I was happy.... it was only when seeing the price drop I realised I had ordered on eu

My son was a lil happier once I told him I was joking however :-D

You don't need to switch to the Squeeze Network to listen to the radio. When you're at the main menu when connected to the Squeeze Centre just scroll down and you should see an option for Internet Radio. I'm not at home at the moment so I can't remember the exact option but there's also a sub-menu called Local (or something like that) which for me bought up all the BBC stations and loads more UK based ones.

HTH.

I see your point that you don't necessarily have to change to Squeeze Network, but then if you don't you're streaming it via your PC aren't you? Anyway, you can't seem to get my favourite station Radio 6 that way.

Not sure if you're streaming it via the PC. I think the PC controls what you're listening to but I think it'll stream it directly through the router - but I'm not 100% sure.

I'd recommend checking out the AlienBBC plugin. It's got all the BBC channels plus all the BBC listen again programmes:
x2systems.com/Ali…BC/

Once you've installed it, you get a sub-menu under Internet Radio.

Squeeze Network is straight out via your router and Squeeze Center is driven and configured through your PC.
