USB powered laptop speaker giving decent quality digital stereo sound at a decent price. No installation disc, just plug and play.

Great price, found at Tesco Extra store in Oldfields Road, Sutton SW London. I've listed as local but may be national. Probably only sold in larger Tesco stores.

heat added! good find!
Very selective, Tesco are offloading loads of old and discontinued electrical goods.

Good luck to anyone that goes looking, but I wouldn't waste my time.
Most of the managers buy anything decent before the normal staff and customers even get a look at it.
Checked my local store and no sign
Hot! Darn, got it for 17quid sometime back on Amazon.
Good...........................Luck
This is still available at Tesco Sutton Cheam Extra, few left..

Yes it would, it installs, through Plug and Play, as a new sound output device. So it replaces your built in speakers, through USB, rather than rely on a 3.5mm headphone/audio out jack. Its a lot easier in my eyes. One connection. youtube.com/wat…ypk

These will be perfect for me, the built in speakers on my Sony Vaio are so poor it's unbelievable from Sony.

@radiocaf

my fujitsu ultraportable's speaker (not speakers!) is so bad it's worse than my old Nokia E71 mobile phone!!
im still considering sticking a usb souncard and fashioning some sort of automatic switch for switching between built in speakers and headphones.

I;ve heard one of these though and they are very good for the money.,
