Good price, I have these speakers and use them in the lounge with consoles and bluray etc. Sound is excellent and enough bass to shake the house. Well worth £200, voted hot

voted hot also these are THX certified and are AWESOME , its an all in one floor board shaker !!!
have them in my living room 10/10

I have a Logitech Z560 400w RMS THX version plugged in to my bluray and the sub woofer is very loud with a long throw speaker. I guess this would be miles better than mine!

definitely worth the price!!!

Have some heat, as the next best price is £40 more! Great speakers, had mine 5 years now, and still going strong. The fact that they are still around, and haven't decreased in price gives an idea of how good they are!

will the outputs from the ps3, sky+HD and xbox just plug straight into this?
i am looking for a surround sound package and this looks good.
cheers,

Can't recommend them enough... Just be aware the bass is so good it will shake the foundations of your house lol

Are you absolutely sure about that? Last time I was looking at HD TVs I was hard pressed to find one that had 5.1 throughput - every one I looked at would take in 5.1 sound from a HDMI cable, then downsample it to stereo (because they only have 2 speakers), and the only output you would get from the TV, whether it was by 3.5mm jack or optical cable was stereo, rather than the full 5.1. That was a few years ago, though, and I haven't looked at newer series of TVs, so if they all do 5.1 throughput now then that's great to hear.

These are the speakers I have in my living room on a HD TV, Xbox 360, PS2, PS3 and Wii setup and they are absolutely amazing on everything from CDs to 5.1 gaming. The TV is actually a Samsung 26" PC monitor, so it has no speakers of its own, and I get audio from the optical outputs on both the 360 and PS3 by running optical cables into a splitter, which works fine. The other consoles are connected to the stereo input on the speakers.

Been waiting a month for these to become £200 and free postage! Can't believe I missed this post, lucky I just happened to search it just in case i'd missed one!!

Just ordered mine now, it always worries me they're gonna take a sudden drop to £150 e.t.c because they've been a similar price for like 4 years now!!

But thanks.

Anyone know where to get a good quality optical cable that they'd recommend, preferably under £6-7 inc. delivery? Thanks.

My TV 'Sony Bravia KDL32W5810U' outputs whatever audio source is put in i.e 5.1 in 5.1 out. Tv has the option to turn off internal speakers and just use external speakers, sound is awesome! I guess other TV's without this capability might downsample the source? Works well for me the digital display on the audio receiver tells me the source i.e 5.1 Digital, DTS, only the wii is stereo becausce im using component in to the TV, Wii sounds awesome with x2 stereo effect...

If your tv has optical out, my sony allows me to select TV speakers or Optical out, via optical it out puts 2.0, 2.1, 5.1, 7.1 what ever it recives.. so from a wii its 2/0, from ps3 linked via hdmi it can delever upto 7.1 lossless audio. it may be some lower end tv's may not puch out 5.1 sound but i dont see why not. however if this is the case than its better to have an amp and connect everything to the amp directly.....
