Best price we've seen in a long while on this, excellent reviews and quite a lot for your dosh overall. It has been lower, but it seems fairly rare to be honest. A good time to grab one it you've been waiting for another drop on a decent 5.1 system.

if this had Bluetooth it would be the dogs stones.

Simple buy a cheap (£5-£15) receiver and connect it to aux like I did and it works the same as an expensive 1 or use an Echo if you have 1.

Example:

Just get a wireless audio receiver..or google audio cast
Nice, heated
This is similar to what I started out with about 15 years ago. If I could go back and change things, I would have spent a bit extra and bought a separate AVR with a speaker package.. The all in one systems like the one here are great until you want to upgrade, then it's a case of changing the whole lot for something similar and usually end getting something only marginally better.. with separates you can just upgrade components as and when it's needed, they have more connectivity options, and more importantly sound a lot better

Ive still got my old Logitech Z560 - 4.1 THX speakers. work a treet. was tempted with these for my PC but dont have the space for the full setup anymore
Thought I'd try and search out my first one.. anandtech.com/sho…657
Then I bought this one purely because it did DTS.. anandtech.com/sho…739
It does become an expensive hobby though, now I have a Marantz AVR, M&K speakers and two SVS subwoofers

If you have the space, IMO, you'd be better off starting with something like this.. richersounds.com/pro…810
Are the older Z5500 not better? Would it not be better to look for them over this?

So what would I need to do to use this with my TV/Sky/Xbox? Does it just connect to TV?

If your tv has a optical cable plug, Just buy a optical cable and plug it in and it will play anything your tv does ie TV/Sky/Xbox
Would these or the Yamaha deal at RS be good enough for house parties? I got the Harmon Kardon iii speakers but they weren't loud enough - Are these significantly louder?
It hasn't got enough lights on it, why can't they put more on it, there's loads of space, could have got another 20 lights on the front easily.
Had a Z5500 for years but I'm never again buying a proprietary speaker system from Logitech.

Great sound but support for the equipment if it breaks is terrible. Plus parts are very hard to find if you want to repair it yourself.

Definitely recommend buying the kit separately over time if you're going the 5.1 route.
Sound bar, sub, wireless rears, watch TV. you'll still be d1cking around with this at Xmas.

Ugh.. No.
Pity it doesn't have the screen like the old Z5500s
this or the Samsung HW-K450 soundbar - I know one is a soundbar and I wasn't really looking for 5.1 but...this is a good price. This doesn't appear to have HDMI ARC support though. Anyhow, I'd be interested in what people think about the comparison.
had one for 10 years maybe
have upgraded speakers and kept sub
got it running my mac and pioneer cdjs. sounds great and had many comments.
top tip if you have any problems with the 906
To reset your Z906 to the factory default settings:
Power your Z906 off using the Power button on the Control Console.
While in the "Off" state, press and hold down the Input button for eight (8) seconds. You'll see several lights on the Control Console light up and there will be a popping sound from the speakers.

Mine has come back to life a few times !!

I have this from when Amazon last did their black Friday. It's a great bit of of kit for the money, plenty of cables, good remote, good controls for different the speakers, just like having a proper audio receiver.
This is a really good deal! Very tempted, but still have my Z5500s and, although I think 2 speakers are gone, it still sounds great!

Agreed and I've had mine 13 years!!!
Great bit of kit this. Mines hooked up to my tv and Xbox one for uhd. Only downside is that it dosent have a hdmi connection but besides that it's brilliant.

Because the sound quality are second to none, if in comparison with a similar type in the same price bracket, besides they can go wireless with a Bluetooth adaptor.

i concur. i have 2 sets of z550's in different rooms. had both for around 10yrs they are awesome
+1 for these being bl**dy brilliant.

I use mine for PS4 gaming and movies. Fantastic sound, no huge ugly receiver and no waiting for HDMI handshaking as it uses digital out.

1 dongle per music system via aux and you stream your music... As you would to a Bluetooth speaker.

thanks I'll try that someday!
Have had this for 2 years now and it's a great system
paid 145 on a prime lightning deal -5 percent student discount (back in those days)
only complaint: from a PC, even with SPDIF out, even with an external sound card, it still can't get true 5.1
Sure you can use the "3D" mode but it's awful, so you're more or less stuck with 4.1 mode, wherein the front 2 and back 2 speakers are cloned/play the same thing
Awesome speaker system ...we had the z5500 (previous model) and loved them so much we upgraded to 2 sets ..living room & garden Room...adding heat to this !!
These speakers are really good, bought them 2 years back and bought a second pair for another room last year. The Bass on these are phenomenal and overall for me they are they perfect solution for a gaming entertainment setup, they will definitely surpass expectations.
I have this, great speakers.
Good price and a good system. Ideal for computer if space is limited.
Anyone found the fronts are not loud enough?
My son has this system in his bedroom for his TV, PC and Xbox. It is great, goes extremely loud without distortion and has lots of bass. Cost him nearly £300 a couple of years ago.
