Lollipop Chainsaw is the sickly sweet hack and slash game brought to you by Suda 51, and is the result of expertly combining the grotesque with the comical. This elaborate game has everything you could ever ask for: blood, gore, and a zombie slaying cheerleader. Come for the party, stay for the zombies, this is Lollipop Chainsaw.

You play as our protagonist Juliet Starling, a perky and upbeat eighteen year old cheerleader at her high school San Romero in California. Her deep, dark secret? She is a zombie hunter sworn to destroy the undead; her family has been fighting zombies for generations, so when Juliet turns up to school to find it in the middle of a zombie outbreak, she doesn't even blink an eye. This outbreak is caused by a formerly quiet classmate of hers called Swan, and as of now he is your arch nemesis. Swan is an evil goth sorcerer hell bent on taking over the world, starting with San Romero high school.

Crack out the chainsaw, because this game requires all the dismemberment, blood, guts, and gore that you can give it. Your acrobatic cheerleading skills come in handy during combat, but the chainsaw is your main weapon. This delivers devastating attacks that will completely eradicate and decimate your enemies. The fun little twist is the contrast between the attack and the demise; when you finish off a zombie, they will burst in to cutesy things such as rainbows, pink hearts, and stars. This sugar coated kill effect is part of the humour and fun that you will consistently find throughout Lollipop Chainsaw, as the game never takes itself too seriously.

Fight through swarms and hordes of zombie former classmates, as well as try to rescue survivors and classmates from the horrors that have taken over the school. Not to mention kick Swan's ass, but most importantly, have fun

**XBox360 link in post below. They haven't updated price on that just yet but as it's part of weekend price crash it'll happen shortly

HOT but tried to order this and Zavvi put on £4.95 delivery? since when did they start charging for postage??
Heat added. Just picked this up first thing this morning from Gamestation for £29.99 with DLC skins. This is an awesome price if you're not bothered about GAME, Gamestation, and Amazon's DLC skins.
Heat added, but just a heads-up that the 360 version appears to have jumped back up to £29.95.

The 360 version is showing in their price crash, and all the other titles have their prices right - maybe this one is just going to be more expensive? Or was it in an email?
Loved Shadows of the Damned and have been looking forward to this, but seeing quite a few negative reviews coupled with a low release date RRP makes me think I should just hold out for it to hit the bargain bin price points...
For those who played it,is it any good?
Wow , I really thought this was a 800 MSP-ish XBLA title o.O
These types of obscure Japanese games always hit sub tenner.

For the first hour but the joke gets tired pretty fast. Thank fully the game only comes in at about 5 hours. I'd wait for it to drop fuether as it inevitably will.
It's £29.95 on xbox
I'd love to have a mess around on this game. I want to be a sparkle hunter, too, dammit. Boo console exclusives.
£24.95 on 360 now too
I've been playing this for the past day and I'd rate it 7/10. Really funny colourful game. Love it.
Ordered. Voted hot
Looks like a great game, but sadly I think this one's destined for the bargain bin
I didn't even know it was out yet, let alone had a price drop :O

Apparantly it's score focused so I'd imagine you'll end up replaying levels for perks rather than just hammering through. That 5 hours could easily double.
This has got 'Bargain Bin' written all over it....
I'd love to mess around with the lass that does the trailer in her cheerleaders gear.

This one. youtube.com/wat…ted
Played this at the MCM Expo.
I would wait for it to drop in price.
Definitely want a pop at this game but no way I'd buy at launch. Price is gonna crash fast.
love this game really really good will be playing it over 3 or 4 times its very addictive
I love Suda51 Killer7 is a work of genius and Shadows of the Damned was brilliant IMO. However this is a terrible game. Played it for about 3 hours and sold it.

Looks similar to No more Heroes, have you played that? I still think Killer7 is his best game, Sine Mora is good also

Yes played / got everything Goichi's been involved with. Sine Mora briliant, as is NMH. He's creative director on this though, not sure what his involvement was but it gets very boring very quickly. It's fun for a while but that's about it. If it had anything like the humour of SOTD I could forgive it but It's like playing a 3d version of the Simpsons arcade game. Definitely not worth £20 plus.

I hated Shadows of the Damned, found it to be childish & dull. Any chance of me liking this if I get it from LoveFilm?
just had a go on this... RUBBISH!
This will be £9.99 within 3 months. Still good price if you want it now.
