London 2012 Sports 50ps, Folder and Completion Medallion now £20.00 + £3.00 Shipping @ The Royal Mint

Found 18th May 2013
I was waiting for ages for this to drop in price and I ordered back in late April when it dropped all the way to £24 + £5 P&P, now it's £20, it falls into the lower shipping category of £3, bringing the price down from £29 to £23.

I still haven't received mine, so could have waited and saved £6 more but I'm still happy as they're an investment really, and £29 and £23 is a sight better than when they were £90 before P&P.

Hope this helps someone

Thanks... have been looking for a nice keepsake after being fortunate enough to attend the Games, so perfect timing & just ordered @ £20 all-in and hopefully some TCB cash as a bonus... thanks OP too

As an "interesting" little aside when I clicked through from Quidco I got the following message up:

Please note, the Royal Mint is legally unable to provide cashback on coins who’s selling price is the same as it’s denomination, e.g. £5 coin sold for £5 or 50p coin sold for 50p.

Admittedly I'm not sure whether to order another set to give as a present as I've not received the set I ordered when it was £24....that was on the 27th April so don't expect the set to arrive quickly. Did phone them last Wednesday and they said it had been posted out on Monday but still waiting for it to arrive.

The other thing is they seem to take payment when order is placed....my account was debited on 29th April.

Hmmmm....problems immediately prior to secure checkout...great deal with discounts.

ordered cheers op

Thanks, just ordered a set, haven't really got anything to commemorate it. Got to the Mexico-Senegal football match at Wembley thanks to my brother. Tried getting in for the men's tennis final but no luck, went to the US Open final instead!

ordered, thanks...

I thought the same, have been collecting manky circulated 50p olympics coins for about a year and have got about 10 so far. I have bought 2 sets on this deal with free delivery and quidco which makes them £3.80 a set (without putting a cash value on the medallion) not a bad deal when you take this into consideration, a nice little keepsake for the kids when they are old enough, by the way- certain coins in the collection are worth a little more on ebay

Thanks OP

Heat added. I ordered individual 50p's but they did not have basketball so ordered this with free del. Also ordered special £5 coins which are on offer at face value royalmint.com/sho…r15. According to quidco you will get cashback on £5 coin deal (believe it when I see it!)

Great deal. Got free shipping with code.

Thanks OP & also the free delivery code plus Top Cashback @ 8.08% (net £18.39) approx £0.63 per coin including the completer medallion which costs £2.99 on its own!

I got 2 Official London 2012 50p Sports Collection Albums free from the Royal mint sometime back & have have both half completed, however these coins are struck to a higher standard & uncirculated.

Purchased as an investment for the future, I'm pretty sure value will only increase.;)

These are uncirculated and you get the Completer Medallion plus folder

Good deal. Collected my whole set from circulation coins and bought the completer medallion. Nice collection.

Been trying to save all the coins I find in change, and a bit like a needle in a haystack, so great to find a full mint set for £20
ordered via quidco for 8% cash back and the free post code. Thanks for the post

I just keep getting a "oops something went wrong" screen.

Will go for it. £20 is great and even then if I don't want it I could always just use the 50p coins.

Ooops something went wrong screen for me too, will keep trying, great deal, heat added :-)

Got charged for postage even when I put the code in!

Will have to email them or something now.

I have ordered all the 50p ones for 50p each (max of 4 per coin per customer) so 16quids worth for 16 quid with free delivery and topcashback. I have made a profit!!

To sign in under another ID just to like yourself is pretty low. Especially when you've just made a fool out of yourself trying to say paying twice the face value for money is a deal.

I think that I bought two. Don't know if anyone else ordered on an iPad but part of the screen wouldn't show so I had to guess what most of the questions were to fill in! Bit of a nightmare but think that I got there!

Bought. Thanks for code

LIke many people, i've been trying to find them in my change! Bought the set plus the 2 £5 coins and used the free delivery code. Thanks OP

I love the 50p coin that looks like Butthead from MT's beavis and butthead is doing the high jump !!

Next to the 'Add to Basket' option it says 'In Production', what the hell does that mean? They aint made em yet? They're making em?
I dont see why they havent sent yours yet, isn't it meant to be normal Royal Mail delivery? I know they're sometimes a little late, but 3+ weeks is pushin it. If we order now, when the hell are we gonna get ours? The next olympics?

It means they are still being produced and not unique nor limited edition. The checkout page indicates these items take slightly longer than the regular 3 day dispatch. So give it a week or so to arrive.

Always a problem when you want something.. Gonna keep trying. Heat Added

We've collected the circulated ones, i'm not sure if these are date stamped but i'd rather have the 2011 ones that were out at the time not new ones made after the event. Bit annoying that the royal mint have done this as it makes them not so rare and collectable if they just keep making more.
