Direct flights with PAL from LHR to MNL are pricing up at 373 on Skyscanner, but if you want to travel around S.E Asia you can add in extra flights for very little (that PAL fly to)... I found adding in Hong Kong even brings the price down...

To get the prices down on skyscanner, do a multi city search... do something like:

Leg 1 - LHR to MNL
Leg 2 - MNL to DPS (Bali)
Leg 3 - DPS to MNL
Leg 4 - MNL to LHR

You don't need to stay in MNL if you don't want to on the return trip, you can have connecting flights from many destinations, but some like Bali have a long connection - so you might as well spend 1 extra day in MNL.

You can do your side trip on the way out or the return leg, prices up the same... I found BKK / CGK / DPS all boosted the price up slightly say 20pounds, while HKG reduced the price.

Rather than doing the international destinations, you can also book domestic destinations as part of this offer too.

I booked for October, but lots of dates are available. PAL is not a bad airline, but not as good as a 5 star airline.... main thing is that it's direct - so saves you a lot of time, but you get to check in 2 bags per person (pasalubong).

If you have not been to the Philippines, it's an amazing place... get out to the islands - try to spend as little time as possible in MNL, unless you know where to go and stay. My last trip was to Bantayan island, which is very good and easy to get to.

Dates when the deal is available:

it was advertised on FB, but it's on Philippine Airlines website... the only thing i added was the options to HKG/DPS etc
im in the process of booking, the HKG stop no longer decreases the price? (October)

In your experience is it better to book the Manila to Palawan flights seperately?

flown with them on this route, they are ok - a lot better than air china, but not as good as qatar. They do NOT have a tv screen for this trip, but they give you an ipad loaded with movies.

Food is not bad at all, seats are fine - you can often upgrade to business for $500 (US) each way, this is offered at check-in.

The main thing is that it's direct.

Regarding the airline, yes a lot of things have changed - they have invested a lot of money in PAL, from memory PAL is now owned by San Miguel. My wifes side of the family who are filipino, but live in the states - only fly PAL, while i have flown with lots of airlines.

If you are going to the Philippines for your first time, enjoy - it's a beautiful place.

skyscanner.net/tra…ome 365 including HKG

skyscanner.net/tra…iew 373 excluding HKG

Regarding Palawan, If your flying into PPS then you can wait and just search for your flights as the A320 flys into PPS so lots of seats (plus lots of airlines, i think i flew Cebu Pacific in and Air Asia out) , but if your flying into Coron, then i would book when you can as it's a small aircraft.
Cheers mate. Excellent info.

I liked camiguin island, bantayan island, malapascua island - lots of options above Boracay, it's been wrecked.... I went about 15 years ago and it was beautiful... not far too many people for the island.
