The London Eye is quite a decent experience. I don't get why there is all this hate.
Thanks Yorlasty - much appreciated!
50% off is better than buy one get one free, incase your a loner or have odd numbers in your group. Great deal.

Because this is the UK, and there is a ridiculously large group of people who love nothing better but to throw a strop about how dreadful the country is (believe it or not, it's actually a firmly held belief by many (hopefully not those in this thread!) that we live in 3rd world conditions! Absolute morons!!!).

When I went on it, it was hardly a thrilling occasion, but it's a good thing to do once. Pretty decent views of the city.

great deal
Been in service for 12 years now. What worries me is that it was engineered to be in service for five!
Just been on London eye last night my 3rd time went on it last night with my daughter and she loved it, price is a bit steep but got 2for1 with national rail so not to bad.

Just wanted to add all tourist attractions in London are bit pricier compared to other parts of the city the eye was mobbed last night, so even though it's a glorified ferris wheel it must make a fortune.

I take it you can't afford a house there then?

I wouldn't worry too much about that.....the Eiffel Tower was designed to last for 20 years - and that was 123 years ago!

For a number of reasons:

1) it's in London
2) it's £20 normally for a ride on a ferris wheel that's only different because it has been named as a tourist attraction
3) London is full of cockneys and southerners
4) it's in London

You've obviously never visited London. I've lived in London for over 20yrs, I wouldn't necessarily say it's the best capital city in the world though is better than what some narrow minded twerps would have us think. It's actually a great city if you care to visit and would highly recommend it.

I would also say the London Eye is hardly a glorified ferris wheel. It's actually quite magnificent.

That isn't necessarily true, they aren't a big a majority as they would like us to think they are. They call themselves the silent majority who incidentally are always shouting their little mouths off. Silent my @rse!

Complete and utter nonsense! I also agree with davidclack.

You would hardly call me cockney or southerner.

Incidentally, Bethnal Green, Whitechapel, Spitalfields, Stepney, Wapping, Limehouse, Poplar, Clerkenwell, Aldgate, Shoreditch, Millwall, Hackney, Hoxton, Bow and Mile End, "The Borough" to the south of Waterloo, London and Tower Bridge are all considered Cockney, not the whole of London.

We were in London last week, we love the place, Greenwich, Docklands and then Henry's bar near Green Park, nice atmosphere
Anyone have any idea how long this offer is open for? Not passing London until September but no specific date until the last minute.
Same offer with Oyster card as well now.

Btw anybody who's disabled is allowed to have one personal assistant join them for free.
Edit: carer tickets need to be booked by phone - 'Disabled and carer tickets must be booked via our booking line on +44 (0)871 781 3000 (calls cost 10p per minute plus network extras)'

Not sure if you could try your luck on the phone though?

Somebody needs a hug ;-)
Sorry but i really think the London Eye is over rated, if you've never been on it before then yes maybe pay £9.45 but for me who has been on it I wouldn't dream of ever going on it again, Madame Tussauds doesn't cost much more than the full price of this and is a far far better experience which is still abit expensive.

Each to their own but for me it was just a glorified ferris wheel which went on for too long.
Thanks. Like a fool i booked a trip to London by bus next week thinking the Olympics would still be on. Now at least can do the Eye again at a bargain price

If you purchase these, do you avoid the queues or still have to line up?
