Perfect if you don't mind a 12 hour layover, heat!

Not a great airline however you can’t grumble for the price. Good spot!
Solid price, I paid about 540 back in November with china southern for a 4 week roadtrip. Saw some jellyfish, dead snakes and a huge huntsman on my car boot door handle !
Agreed good price, just came back Tuesday from a two week trip to Sydney, flew with Qatar for £650 on the A380 with an hour and a half transfer in Doha. Saw a huntsman freely chasing me whilst walking across grass in flip flops, red bellied black snake and shed loads of jellyfish.

Heat. Mostly because Air China operate their 777-300ER aircraft at 9 across in economy whilst others use 10. That includes the likes of Qatar, Emirates, Singapore etc...
Going in April, fly into Melbourne , fly back from Brisbane. good price.

Air China are terrible, avoid them like the plague!
We flew out from Heathrow on 27th December, spent 2 nights in Beijing before flying into Sydney with Air China.

Beijing was fantastic - we visited the Great Wall and had a wander around Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City and other temples in the city. We took a Lonely Planet Beijing guide and visited a fantastic duck meal.

We flew with Air China; it was basic, the in flight meals weren’t great but it was alright. Most of all it was the cheapest option.

All our flights were on time and got us where we needed to be.

On the return leg we had a 10 hour stopover in Beijing airport; we paid for business class lounge access and had good grub, beer and somewhere to relax.

Hot!

How did you manage to do that? Did you look at single flights or did you find a multi-trip search?

I second this - I'd rather fly into Brisbane and fly out of Sydney! (or vice versa!)

How much was the Lounge.
And were there entertainment screens on the flights? As long as there's movies, i'm happy.

The lounge worked was £50 for two people and we got our money’s worth - used LoungePass.com

There was in flight entertainment yes, however it was a bit archaic but you’ll get some films.

Worth saying we paid £700 per person so this is a steal.
sod that, sitting on a bloody airplane for hour after hour. I would pay for NOT going, no heat from me
