Some very cheap flights to New Zealand with Air China for just over £400 return - dates are for May - if you keep an eye out you should be able to get similar prices for later months as seem to change on a daily basis

Note there is a 10/12 hour layover in Beijing but could get a 72 hour free visa waiver on the way out if you fancied.

A few example dates and prices found below

London Heathrow to Auckland

  • 15th May to 29th May £413
  • 15th May to 12th June May £456

    Upside: The price.

Downside: You'll be flying with a load of mainlanders.

Good price and Air China are an OK airline. Air China have some great deals to Asia at the moment.
Unable to use this deal but good find. Heat.

    Kayak is very good.
Anybody know of any fantastic deals for a few days abroad between 28th April and 4th may? For a couple . Thanks!!!
10-12 hour layout very useful, as flights are often delayed 3hr+, more so over winter though, so might not so bad at this time of year. Heat given as this is an amazing price.
Used Air China and China Airlines and never had any issues, though food and IFE was not great. Layover in China on way out can be good though, definitely worth a stop.
I might be biased, but this looks like an amazing deal to me...

But you don't want to make the trek to Milford sound and not see your hand in front of your face, it's a bit far to go back...

Got a great pic of Machu Picchu in the fog, wanna see it😁

That's odd I was looking on Saturday and this didn't come up on Skyscanner , the best I could find was £700ish with Qantas/Emirates. for this month and May.
Edit I wanted CHC which is £668 with China Air, if I had more time this would have been perfect as I have someone in Wellington that needs a visit.

Hot deal for North Island the picture of Mount Cook which is near CHC on the south Island made me think it was a CHC deal.
If anyone is going to south Island PM me I can arrange some discount on the West Coast

Amazing price. I've done this route myself and Air China wasn't half as bad as I thought it would be. However, it depends on your expectations because the person I was travelling with hated the flight... the stopover... the food... the seating... the air hostesses... etc.

What's wrong with the food and seating? And is the service like Ryanair?

The amount of rain that part of NZ gets it's a lottery whether you see anything anytime of year. I just got back from NZ and had 6 days of rain and fog while travelling down the west coast of the South Island from Kaiteriteri all the way down until I got to Wanaka. I had an okish day at Milford a few days later however but that was luck.
Doesn't look like she touched the water....

The helicopter bungy jumping is higher than the fixed Nevis, but costs more!
Blimey, you mean you can actually buy stuff from Travel Supermarket ASWELL?!

Will have a look at this, I like to give a little back.

Great deal, but you're going in to late autumn time, so it wont be very warm...

And Air China isn't very good, I flew with them once and don't fancy that again.

Some people complain about the strangest things when travelling, you see so many complaints about hostesses being unfriendly, I don't care about that personally, I'm buying a flight not an escort.

That would be the Milford Sound that's surrounded by rain-forest would it? There's a clue there as to the
prevailing weather conditions, whatever the time of year.
