why the cold votes ? once in a lifetime opportunity is the way I look at it

You're not actually gauranteed a ticket!

To be honest I would go to pretty much anything else except the opening ceremony. Couldn't think of anything worse and one of those things that always looks much better on the TV than actually being there.

of course your not guaranteed a ticket but thats the reason its posted you will not get the chance of ticket if you dont apply. I am sure tickets will treble in price come the day !

Opening Ceremony is a cheap option other tickets like 100m final day is £50

You can only buy using a Visa card what a con that is

Not really a "deal" though eh....

think its more a heads up

If I lived anywhere near London I'd prob take my dad, but we all know places to stay will cost a small fortune during the 2012 games

and agree with Greencode, they would look much better on TV however, nothing beats actually being there

You will get money back and you will get a gold medal too, which is 92.5% silver.

what a load of rubbish

i think i will have better things to do seen as the world is going to end a few months later!

oh yes - i forgot - armageddon!

When you think how much public money has gone into the games, how they get away with charging £20 minimum for tickets to event is beyond me. I was looking through some today and there were very few priced at £20, most were about £60-£80.

You can watch it at home for free *

* TV Licence, LED 1080p TV, SKY HD Subscription Required

then you have the transport and accomodation costs...

Cheers for post OP,went for 4 tickets, doubt id use them though as im in Edinburgh. Just need to find a London bird to give me cheap bunk up. (_;)

londoners need not apply,,you will get free tickets when they realise that the stadiums are going to be half empty.

The other thing that makes me laugh is the £6 delivery for the tickets. Given it's such a huge event, you'd have thought that economies of scale would enable them to negotiate very low courier rates.

SKY HD Subscription Required

I'd rather pay sky high ticket fees for the Olympics than give Murdoch any money although I admit I probably will be indirectly by going to the games.

does the Olympic branding look like Lisa Simpson giving someone an oral seeing to?

As the hooker with no arms said " I couldnt give a toss "

SKY HD Subscription Required

Sky HD subscription absolutely NOT required. You can watch it in HD on BBC One HD and the BBC HD Channel on Freeview HD and Freesat HD without any subscription.

AFAIK, Sky don't have Olympics coverage rights anyway, so why you'd want to pay them to watch something that's FREEly available on FREEview and FREEsat I don't know.

Megamart.

I believe it was stated in jest, at the cost you'd pay to get this free.

And it's a once in a lifetime opportunity that I can well do without. I'm not even interested enough to watch it on the telly.

Its a pagan act in a christian country.
Making millions for the few on the backs of slavery.
So COLD but it should be HOT to burn in the fires of hell.

How is it a con? The only reason why you can pay by Visa is because that's what LOCOG agreed to. Visa hands over big sponsorship money and in return they get exclusive payment.

people have to apply for credit cards so they can buy tickets, hardly fair is it

It doesn't need to be a credit card. Just a normal debit card would do if VISA is all they're after.

We've already paid for this through our taxes and lottery money, so much for it being an Olympics for the people.

I can see it being another Millennium Dome, in that it'll be all oohs and aahs for a week, and then everybody will wonder why on Earth we had it in the first place.

Even so if they dont have a VISA card they will have to get a credit or debit card, which like i say isn't fair
