@lookbook Presumably you can use the return (bham to lon) as the starting point of the journey and the other ticket (lon to bham) as the return?

Would it not be possible to buy 2 return journeys, both London to Birmingham and back, and only use one (single) ticket for each journey to / from London? Since the tickets are sold as singles, but as appears, can only be bought as pairs commencing in London, 2 returns would give 2 singles starting and finishing in either London or Birmingham. Would still only cost £1.00

cold for inaccurate pic.

I recommend visiting the new library, there is a great view from the roof terrace on a clear day, and it's free.

Is this any good for visiting the NEC?

Birmingham to London options seem to be limited to two trains a day getting in mid afternoon. Don't think this covers local Birmingham stations either as the regular tickets do so an extra expense if you're travelling from Birmingham.

You'll need to get an extra ticket to start your journey from Birmingham; ie the booking system will only let you choose/book a journey starting in London and that journey needs to be earlier than the return journey so for example London - Birmingham at 9.40am and Birmingham - London is at 3pm, obviously you can't book the Birmingham - London as the first journey, so book the earliest London - Birmingham possible (you won't use it anyway) , then select a Birmingham - London which is actually going to be your first journey, and buy a third ticket from London - Birmingham which will be your actual return journey...tickets are sold as 25p singles so you should be fine - however be flexible with the times if you intend to do this as a day trip as it seems the Birmingham - London trains arrive in the afternoon - might be more suitable for a trip longer than just a day

That would be a short rail journey back out of Brum on another line (from New Street) but not difficult at all. Would cost more than 50p though!

Yep, looks like you can only make b'ham to London and back with an overnight (and wasted tickest as above) as earliest B'ham departure is 12:55 and latest London departure is 13:15 (or thereabouts).

Does this include children as it would not let me choose children when choosing the tickets.

Also it asks for names of passengers when booking, so can it be transferred to others if plans change?

thanks.
