Should work with kids for a quid offer.

Kids for a Quid

Kids for a Quid is a permanent offer that is only valid on the Southeastern network. Up to 4 kids travel off-peak for £1 each when accompanied by an adult with an off-peak fare, super off-peak fare or season ticket.

Availability

You can buy tickets in advance or immediately before travel. They are available from our ticket offices or online - but not from our ticket vending machines.

Discounts

Children (aged 5 to 15 inclusive): £1 each for up to 4 children with an adult off-peak fare, super off-peak fare or season ticket. Railcard discounts do not apply.

Perfect timing for me, thank you

Wish this was the other way around.

Shame it's not whitstable to London and home again! I live in whitstable and want to leave when all the tourists arrive! Voted hot though!

I guess you could use it the other way around because it won't be for specifically timed trains as it's just a day return ticket. You could legitimately use the return ticket for the outward journey...no travelcard though.

Also, I live in London and have family in Gillingham, frustrating that I can use this for stations near Gillingham, but not included!

Shame Canterbury not included

You can't legitimately use a return ticket in the reverse order, it's against the National Rail terms and conditions.
You might be able to get away with it, but if you're caught you could be treated as though you have no ticket.

From National Rail Conditions of Carriage:

17. Using a return ticket
A return ticket (including a two-part return ticket) is only valid for the outward journey shown on that ticket if the ticket is completely unused. You may not use the outward part of a return ticket after you have used the return part.
