yes mate, magaluf - fill your boots
It's a fascinating place, but, not that cheap due to the two tier currency. You will be charged way more than locals but remember their salaries are around 40usd a month!!! So everyone is on the take right up to the ladies checking you in to the flight on the way home. You can't get.pissed at them though. We spaff more.on a night out than they earn in a month. Gives you perspective!
Enjoy, Def worth going.before it changes too much.
What does the government being communist have to do with anything? The US is just as loathe to help its own people.

Small Casa accommodation is the way to go in Cuba. Look on Airbnb or Cubican website.

watch out for air bb when having to pay upfront for your accommodation. You will see the price in pound sterling on their website, but when you finally come to pay with your card they will convert it into dollars and will add about 10% ish on the current daily exchange rate when converting your sterling...And if you try and contact them about this ,so hard to speak to a real person, well almost impossible as its all online, and you will get passed to various departments and in the end give up. You will only see good reviews about their properties for rent...Coz they do not publish bad reviews. That was my personal experience....I should have looked here first

I've used it worldwide, Nepal, South America, Ireland, Australia, NZ, Cook Islands and more and always been charged in £. My Havana booking as also come off my card and I was charged in £ with no conversion fee.
Edit: I just realised the conversation and fee was only brought in this year around April, which is why I'd avoided it in the past! Hmmmm, deffo worth knowing about, thanks!
oh gawd, just booked LA and other US places. Too late now
What a load of drivel. Just back from Cuba, stayed at Varadero for a week and there was no damage and then on to Havana which again had no damage visible apart from the US emabassy has its ground floor boarded up.

Sunny ? average temp January Magaluf 9c hardly beach weather lol
Hemmingway bar is the worst place to visit there, they make so many Mohitos that they don't even bother to do a proper job.
I am just back from Cuba (Havana and Varadero) two days ago and I failed to see any of this "devastation" you claim. Only the north coast was hit and these areas SHOULD have been the worst affected. Just one thatched restaurant at our hotel in Vardero (out of several places to eat) was out of action and was being repaired.
