Looking for cheap flights instead of paying attention to work, as you do; and spotted these. Super cheap for flights to Cuba.

Cuba seems like such a cool place to explore, cigar in hand of course.

£330pp Return From 8th Jan to 22nd Jan 2018

It depends what you're after and how far you are prepared to stay from the centre. Highly recommend you get a rough/lonely guide book(as up to date as poss) and read up. There are three areas, the higgeldy piggeldy old central bit, then a more gridded area, and then the more new area (this is all off the top of my head so sorry if any dud info). You can get collectivo taxis in and out of town for next to nothing on the main roads in and out of town,.or you can get a personal taxi booked by your accommodation.

It's a fascinating place, but, not that cheap due to the two tier currency. You will be charged way more than locals but remember their salaries are around 40usd a month!!! So everyone is on the take right up to the ladies checking you in to the flight on the way home. You can't get.pissed at them though. We spaff more.on a night out than they earn in a month. Gives you perspective!

Enjoy, Def worth going.before it changes too much.

Be aware that the communist government is not in a hurry to fix or repair the place, which is a shame. Probably gonna give it a miss unfortunately

What does the government being communist have to do with anything? The US is just as loathe to help its own people.

I got flights for Xmas Manchester to Havana sub £300 a few months back. KLM with a stop in Amsterdam, but the stopover on the way out is overnight so combining it with pre-city break to Amsterdam. On the way back it's only an hour or so.

Small Casa accommodation is the way to go in Cuba. Look on Airbnb or Cubican website.

Thanks, yeah, I'd really love to visit before it ends up becoming a theme park version of itself!

watch out for air bb when having to pay upfront for your accommodation. You will see the price in pound sterling on their website, but when you finally come to pay with your card they will convert it into dollars and will add about 10% ish on the current daily exchange rate when converting your sterling...And if you try and contact them about this ,so hard to speak to a real person, well almost impossible as its all online, and you will get passed to various departments and in the end give up. You will only see good reviews about their properties for rent...Coz they do not publish bad reviews. That was my personal experience....I should have looked here first

Are you sure you booked on the airbnb.co.uk site as oppose to the .com site.

I've used it worldwide, Nepal, South America, Ireland, Australia, NZ, Cook Islands and more and always been charged in £. My Havana booking as also come off my card and I was charged in £ with no conversion fee.

Edit: I just realised the conversation and fee was only brought in this year around April, which is why I'd avoided it in the past! Hmmmm, deffo worth knowing about, thanks!

We went 20 years ago and it as like that then. We loved the place. Have a waiter a 5dollar tip at and he cried his heart out. Lovely people.cant recommend enough.itswas hard to see such poverty, but the people were amazing. Good cigars too freshly rolled

Havana Ooonana!

Went from august 20 to september 18.. from airport i booked nearest place for first 3 days..it was boca de camarioca.. it looks like i had there best snorkeling in all the rest my trip.. paid 25 dollars per night for casa..dont need to book in advance..plenty can be found in all around cuba with blue anchor sign... ..varadero is ok..not perfect for me..make sure you looking after prices what you are paying for.. as in varadero they are worst with ripping you off.. actualy i traveled everywhere up to ciego de avilia..as i got hit by itma hhurracane so badly..so stayed in home for 5 days without food just water..make sure you have always some food with you ..sometimes there is nothing to eat except piza piza or pan con some shit.. ..alot to write..about my trip as i lived like local and traveled with camiones and trains.. but it was interesting..also i changed all my1500 pounds to local money not to cuc.. it was real fun to live like that..also best place Sankti spiritus..no tourists and you feels like king.. worst was Trinidad and Cienfuegos..because of tourists and prices

Amazing deal for a great adventure thanks OP

What a load of drivel. Just back from Cuba, stayed at Varadero for a week and there was no damage and then on to Havana which again had no damage visible apart from the US emabassy has its ground floor boarded up.

Sunny ? average temp January Magaluf 9c hardly beach weather lol

The best of Cuba is when you travel south - away from the tourist areas.

Hemmingway bar is the worst place to visit there, they make so many Mohitos that they don't even bother to do a proper job.

Great deal

I am just back from Cuba (Havana and Varadero) two days ago and I failed to see any of this "devastation" you claim. Only the north coast was hit and these areas SHOULD have been the worst affected. Just one thatched restaurant at our hotel in Vardero (out of several places to eat) was out of action and was being repaired.
