Shouldn't need a Badge !
1970s transition to 2010s, not much public etiquette and chivalry on public transport these days; such a begging badge in pre-1970s Britain would have been unthinkable.
Actually, since my hair turned grey I often get offered a seat - so chivalry is not dead. I always make a point of a big smile and saying Thank you. A lot of people are wary of offering a seat and getting a poor response.

What a strange comment.
This is a good idea i have an 'invisible' illness getting a seat on a central line tube to go in to the city from stations in Essex/Hainault loop easy always loads of seats if you want a seat going out of the city there never is any if you have an illness/disability that isn't obvious, you can't stand for long and don't use a stick or walking aid you wont get offered a seat

Great point, totally agreed.

I think HUKD need to be monitoring fascistic hate speed on their site, unless they share those ridiculous opinions.
There's a lot of scepticism surrounding this thing?, it makes sense in some ways I guess?.

But I believe it's a good idea anyway. :-)
Thanks for this post.
I've ordered one for my mum. She struggles to find a seat because of her "invisible" illnesses. I'll see if this helps

Sad but true. Then again I recall seeing a WWII Propaganda short (film) a few years back reminding people to give up one's seat to a burdened or older commuter. Which only goes to show the ill-mannered have always made up a sizeable proportion of a population.
