That's canny
Not bad is it. But I've gotta stop looking
That is one very nice looking watch mate!
Moderately tempting isn't it. One in stock
That's attractive. Nice share
Nice find. Nice looking watch.
Very nice
Great saving on a good looking watch
Shame its a quartz.

They have their fans but i like a mechanical watch and wouldn't consider a quartz at this price.

Depends what auto you’re comparing it too, most ETA movements in the majority of Swiss watches only cost about £200. I’d say Quartz vs auto isn’t really about price but preference. (Exceptions of course)
Why the heck is this a quartz ?
What a beauty

Price is secondary as can be read in my comment . If its was £140 I wouldn't buy it because it's a quartz. I only mention price because other people do and I don't get it.

We all spend our money as we will.

+/-5 seconds per year.Per year...

In a world of mobile phones etc etc is that really of particular importance? It's not like you'll be using it to measure longitude as you sail solo around the world.

Thats very true

But accuracy wise quartz is more impressive than automatic. Personally I dont have any (quartz), but I wouldn't rule it out

No, its not. The accuracy of a mechanical movement that is accurate to +/- 5 seconds a day will always impress me more than a quartz regardless if how accurate it is. Particularly if that movement is hand built.

I'd have a Seiko Samurai or a wee Orient Mako over this.

I have an 80's quartz TAG 1000. I love it but the battery thing is a bit dull...

Don't be shy. Just get out to sea, clutch a car battery tightly to your chest and time your dive.

Each to their own

I have 6 autos, no quartz watches.

But if a grand seiko comes up when I've got both the spare cash and a decent lie I can tell my partner as to how much I paid and why, I'm in.

You can always say it’s just a Seiko so it was like a tenner.

I'm not sure where you are going or coming from with your comments to be honest.

You appear to be so impressed and enamoured of quartz movement's accuracy that you won't buy one.

I like mechanical watches and have done since my first little Timex. I wouldn't spend Grand Seiko type cash on a watch either. I know what I like and I know what I can afford.

At the RRP of this you could get a nice auto chrono from same Manufacturer. At this price you could find a nice Hamilton or similar. That's where my money would go.

I dont disagree with your logic, and there are so many Hamiltons I'd go for if I had more money

I think you can be impressed at something without buying it ?

Once bucherer get themselves sorted I should have a montblanc 1858 chrono turning up this week, another auto...
Just by a £10 Casio and save £780
They probably bought a £10 Casio and put it in a new case and with a new face on it?
Nothing like a watch post to bring out the cock swingers and battle of opinions
Looks well put together, however the red accents really make it look garish.
"Must stop looking at watches now!!!!"

I find myself freezing frames and going back to try to look at some of the watches I see on TV to see if I can ID what the watch someone is wearing. Prob is I don't have the background knowledge to ID any! But I still look.
Lovely looking watch by a great brand. Shame its quartz though. Quartz is quickly going out of fashion in regards to luxury watches. If you don't mind the quartz movement, I'm sure you'd have years of enjoyment wearing this. Being Quartz would make it very accurate and robust.
This is far from a typical quartz. This (poor) video shows the initial set up - same watch, just larger size:

What I dont like about Longines VHP is it does not hack, and also has to go back to the factory for new
battery and synchronization, you cannot set the second hand by pulling the crown out and synchronizing with the time signal.
