Another awesome find for what I think is a very good watch. Like the other I posted, nice and cheap, makes a nice daily wearer with little to no worry.

Showcasing the elegance of performance, this Longines Conquest V.H.P men's watch includes features that meet the requirements of the most demanding sportsmen and women.

Presented on a fine-brushed stainless steel bracelet, this sleek watch features a 41mm stainless steel case with a polished bezel. Scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with several layers of anti-reflective coating on the underside protects the black dial that's enhanced by applied Arabic numeral and baton hour markers and a date window at 3 o'clock.

Water resistant to 50m, this beautifully made watch is powered by a Swiss quartz movement for excellent precision. Both modern and sophisticated, this Longines watch will make a statement at both a fashionable soirée, as well as sporting events.

Fortunately most of us know the positions of the 12 and 6 so that's not a real worry

Haha so did I! Had a busy week but noticed a couple of bargains, not too many sales at the moment.
I like this. By no standards though is 600 quid 'nice and cheap' for a watch. Yes it is heavily reduced but it still costs way way more than the vast majority of people in the UK would consider a reasonable amount to spend on what is effectively jewellery.

Agreed. But I wouldn't go within a thousand miles of a range rover deal for example. Horses/courses.

Oh definitely. I just think it comes across as a bit crass to say things like it can be worn with little worry, when for the vast majority of the population it is more than they could afford or consider spending on a watch.
Fair enough...
Great deal for a HAQ - deals come up on the GMT version as well - worth looking out for.

Have you seen the watch in person? The image above does make it look like that

Whilst probably posting that from a phone choosing a grand. Again, horse for courses, it's shouldn't affect whether this is a deal or not.

Sadly I'm still learning how to tell the time ⌚😔.

It's just a minor gripe which is why I started looking at the white/blue face instead.

Yeah, I seen it in person. If it was similar to the hydroconquest then I'd have grabbed it but it was the only negative for me.

So you think £600 would be a lot to spend on jewellery, wow you get off cheaply.

If you can point out where I said I personally think it is a lot, you get a gold star.
I said for the majority of the population, it is a lot and to say its nice and cheap seems crass.
Personally, I've got watches that cost more than this, but I don't go flaunting them by saying oh, it's only worth 600 quid.
That little bit of red makes all the difference.

Likewise, if you can point it where anyone said they'd wear this and say its only 600 quid if be grateful.
Indeed if you know anyone who wears any jewellery or watches and tells you what it's worth you know a ghastly person. No one I have ever met has done that.
Also I'm intrigued at this idea that a watch is somehow jewellery.
I'd never were a stopped or broken watch, however beautiful, so I'm guessing a watch is functional for me, for telling time.
Also I keep my phone in my pocket so I find glancing at a watch much more convenient than having to keep dragging my phone out just to know the time. Just one for the "you don't need a watch, you've got a phone" brigade.

A £10,000 Rolex is less accurate than a £20 casio - when you get into watch collecting (as many people here have) at some point you just accept it's not a rational hobby and you are buying jewellery.
It’s a nice watch and I do like Longines, but I really struggle to want a quartz watch! It would annoy me watching that second hand tick every second! Especially if it doesn’t line up!
The only quartz that I lust after is a Grand Seiko!

12 is at the top and 6 at the bottom
unless you wear the watch sideways or upside down of course
Nicely put together and nice price- hot!
Great gift for your husband before you tell him you cheated on him

I would love a VHP but the fact that they have the 12 and 6 is IMO too ridiculous and stops me from buying one

I did write to Longines a couple of years ago suggesting that they might offer VHPs with a choice of dial format I'm still wating for a reply.

Shame I can't get over it - this is a great deal!

Pretty much what I would have said. The innards of a Rolex don't matter to the vast vast majority of their purchasers, they buy them for the looks (ie just like jewellery), the cachet and the possibility of them being worth more in coming years than they currently sell for. People interested in horology are such a tiny subset of watch purchasers.

Nice looking watch and very decent specs.

What did you get mate?

After much deliberation I bought a six month old Grand Seiko spring drive diver (try saying that after three pints of Strongbow).

It was the same price as a pelagos LHD which is also REALLY nice

Thanks.
