As many of us know, half term can be stressful for some and/or cost an absolute fortune on days out or even taking the family out for the day!

Back in the day i just had pogs and was happy :P

I've put together a few cheaper days out / family discounts - I'll be adding more links as & when (see 1st comment) to help all of you with the cost and maybe even some will be free.

If you do spot any others, as i'm sure you will, feel free to comment and i'll add to the list.

Hope this helps

6 quid tickets at Lightwater Valley Ripon area, this half term. The full theme park isn't open just selected rides plus other activities on for children hence reduced price. Am wondering if to go.

2 for 1 vouchers all year round for Tees Valley area plus some other attractions etc. I buy one these books every year. I always use the hair salon vouchers and get free cut n colour worth 60 quid or so everytime. However the book full of bogof for children's activities

Regarding the Harry Potter Tour - tour operators sell unsold tickets back to the Harry Potter studio 6 days before, so if you're looking to go on the 15th say, then check for tickets early morning of the 9th. Worked for me over Christmas time.

If you leave near Preston, be sure to visit the wonderful Museum of Lancashire (still free) before it closes down after half term.

Haha pogs bring back memories! I remember The Beano ran a promotion where you got a packet for free with it. The Beano was 40p or thereabouts while a packet of Pogs was about a quid. I cleaned out my local WH Smith of Beanos and pretty much completed the whole first series run. I was Lord of the Playground for all of about 3 weeks thanks to that.

I wonder if Diggerland will do the cheap (£5?) tickets again in half term like last year? Hope so, too expensive (value rather than actual fiscal) for 6 of us otherwise.

brilliant

Great post.heat.

It's well worth getting the book, there vouchers for all over. There a good Groupon on at moment for adventure Valley, be around 50 minute drive from say Middlesbrough, 4 people for just under 16 quid.

Is there any discount on Drusillas other than the 10% for booking online?

Seems to be only 10% only

Although you can use Clubcard vouchers Tesco Clubcard link ''Every £6 of Tesco Clubcard points is worth one ticket for Drusillas Park Zoo''

I suppose that's not bad. The ticket prices to Drusillas, 10% off or not, do not fit in with my idea of a cheap day out.

Depends what you define as cheap, if you're looking to save something than paying full price then it's there , good use of Clubcard vouchers if you don't want to spend any cash.

If i spot any further discounts then i'll update as / when
