I'd agree if it was a movie. However for kids, DVDs are OK. We used to have a little TV/DVD combo before it broke. They're good for those but not much else.

I do (well, mainly BD or DVD when it's not an option), they can still offer advantages over DD only.

Shame this, cos was hoping it came in VHS format. Seriously, its 2017, DVDS???????

The Mandela effect is alive and well here. It has always apparently been called Looney Toons. I always knew it as Looney Tunes and backed this up with the Scottish not politically correct saying someone is Tunes to mean they are off their rocker. I just argued this out with my wife 2 days ago after hearing a radio show abut the Mandela effect and here is what you apparently call residual evidence that it was in fact Tunes all along.

Given that the cartoons weren't made in 4k UHD, DVD is enough. Popping a disc in and hitting play is still easier than streaming too. Where is the downside?

It’s not the resolution of DVDs that’s the issue.

classics, just bought a box. Can't have the future generations growing up without the wonders of looney tunes now can we?

is this available on any streaming subscriptions?

AFAIK, Tom and Jerry is on Amazon Prime while Looney Tunes are paid.

I dont recall seeing them on Netflix but they might be on Sky/Now TV Kids.

That said, unless you're subscribing anyway or maybe watch them in a month or two, you may still may be better off just buying the DVD for £15.

Only if it's good value for money or maybe more convenient, YMMV.

New customers use code WELCOME brings it down to £13.49

I watch cartoons and I eat biscuits too

For kids dvds are good and we have in car DVD so brill for holidays as we normally plug it into hotel TVs (most are old or cheap tellys. ) extra heat as my son loves looney toons and it's his bday soon something extra to open

hot. I remember there was a glitch some years back for this boxset and I missed out on it.
There are some films not available digitally such as the 1934 version of Les Miserables.
I did want to buy a Blu-Ray player when my DVD player broke but Tesco had none and I decided I could live without the upgrade so bought another DVD player.

Anybody know if the cartoons are censored or not?

I believe the cross species kissing scenes have been edited out as per Trump's request

Physical media is great. It won't vanish from your shelf when a streaming service's rights lapse, for a start.

dvd £15 watch it on youtube it will be better quality than dvd format, and free it is cold,.

Unsure how what is most likely a DVD rip is going to be better than DVD quality. These cartoons were probably produced at a lesser resolution to start with anyway.

Zavvi need to amend their listing - this is a "Toons" box, not Looney Tunes. Since when were Tom & Jerry Looney Tunes?

Comes in useful for car journeys with the kids, tempted for that reason...

Wow!

Heat added for me. I won't be buying it as I have the golden collection DVDs and the platinum blu rays

You can't beat 15 hours of Looney Tunes for £15 though. Well worth it

Brilliant thanks!
