Not the cheapest this has been but a good price and in stock from a major retailer. Was going online to pick up the £7 theatrical three disc set (heat as 'tis £9 instore!) but was just too tempted by this...
Now just got to find time to watch it!

Voted hot because amazon are selling it for about £32!!

can we see only the theatrical version if we want in the extended version discs. or we have to watch the complete extended version of the movie. I like to buy the extended version only if it allows me to watch the theatrical version too.

If I was a skeptical man, I would imagine that soon a directors cut will be coming out....

I am a very imaginative man.

Nope, sorry - extended cut runs over two discs - shame really! Theatrical trilogy for £7 deal already posted is a damn fine alternative for more casual viewing.

I really want this but its still quite expensive. I know you get alot for your money, but I do love a bargain!

best box set ever. still not long enough tho imo.
beautiful films.

The Two Towers is pretty much All Filler.

Still Tolkien was a good righter...

;-D

That's like going to a Lamborghini dealership and asking if you get a Skoda as part of the deal!

Better warranty on a Skoda though.

do you reckon it will go below £20?
voted HOT anyway ;-)

Good deal.

If you're looking to save money and aren't worried about the bulk of the extras, you can buy the three (extended edition films) individually at HMV in their 3 for £20 offer, assuming they're in stock at the store you visit. Obviously not as good value considering it's only a few £££ cheaper and lacking quite a few discs, but if you're only interested in the extended films like I was for a cheap price as possible, this seemed good to me.

or even a 4k remastered 3D super whoop-de-doop edition

Got an email today saying my order of this item has been declined. Anyone know why that might be?

For anyone that cannot find a copy, there were hundreds in the Manchester HMV today for £24.99 if its any easier for you guys:
