The Lord of the Rings: Extended Editions Bundle £14.99 at iTunes Store

This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

All three films in their extended forms, appears to be the cheapest the bundle has been, but I’m not sure if they’ve been cheaper individually combined.

From previous threads these may get the 4K upgrade.

For some reason the Two Towers doesn’t have iTunes extras which is annoying.

They may have been long but the theatricals were missing so much more.
The Extended editions fill in a lot of blanks that make certain scenes make much more sense.
The Extended Edition are the only way to watch this trilogy IMO.
Buy, you fools!
Let's hope it'll get the 4k treatment soon

Thank CheapCharts they’re real heroes!
I’ve been waiting for this. Heat.
FotR and TTT have been £3.99, whilst RotK has been £4.99 at various times. But you would have needed to be on your game to get them. Great price for the bundle.

Been waiting for the price drop on the normal ones to watch with the kids as we are reading the books. Got excited when I saw this but Wow four hours long will the kids lose interest? Do you get the normal length as well?

pretty sure with the extended editions the credits are half an hour long.... 20mins of which are credits from the fan club or something.

theyre still long movies though. just split them into half and consider them two movies if theyre too long. on the blurays each movie is on two disks and theres an intermission. possibly the itunes version retains the intermission... nice place to stop and come back the next day..
The Extended Middle Earth Collection cheapest price has been $34.99 Canadian Dollars - around £20 - for all 6 Movies (May 2019) and the next cheapest on iTunes Canada is around £26, which was in November 2019.
I managed to get the 15 blu ray disc box set in Tescos in a January sale a few years back. A bargain but still unopened.

However this is still a great price for 3 awesome films, especially if it's in 4K.

Thanks OP had to think about weather to buy these due to the lengths of the films. No idea why I had to think, bought
Has anyone else tried to watch all three extended films in one day? I tried, but failed to get past the mid point of two towers. You simply get very bored by that point!
Great if watched over 6 or so days, ideal for virus times!
Extended editions are well worth it in my opinion some of the extra details in these should of always been in !! Saurons mouth for one

When I first watched the extended editions I wondered why it wasn’t in the theatrical.
Just watch last 30min of the final part... It's the biggest waste of time ever...
My worry is the two towers extras have been removed so its asking me to rebuy. Guess I will have to purchase again to get the 4k upgrade if that occurs.

Yes, 9:00am to 12:30am including comfort and food breaks, totally worth it and a perfect lockdown activity.

Worth it for the Boromir Osgilliath scene alone
Buy, you fools!
The extended editions are the only way to watch the trilogy, other releases must be cast into the fire and destroyed.
Great price! I already have the Blu Ray Boxset Extended edition but this will save all the disc changing etc. Great find!
Heaaaat. The extended versions offer a lot of extra worthwhile scenes!

Unfortunately, most of what was missing from the theatrical cuts consists of characterisation that's pretty useful for making anyone who hasn't read the novel care about the people on screen for the interminable battle scenes. If you're watching with kids, you're far better off treating it as 6 smaller films and stopping for the day at the intermission points than you are trying to make it through all three hours of each shorter cut in one go.

Conversely, don't ever make them sit through the longer Hobbit. Not least because they added enough violence to The Battle Of The Five Armies to make it a 15 rating.

Have done this with the extended editions. Loved every minute. It needs food and drink deliveries - and some friends who are equally into it - but they are some of the greatest movies of all time.
LOVE these. Some of the elements the extra scenes add are really worth it, especially Boromir's relationship with his father.
Hands down best films ever made. Nothing comes close in terms of quality. It's a shame GoT couldn't stick the landing.

The 4K remasters are due in June, if they dont get delayed. The Hobbit is also due to be released in 4K Dolby Vison with Dolby Atmos. I can't wait! and would personally hold off on this deal and get the 4K versions instead. The films were shot in 5K format so the 4K versions should be awesome.

More than likely apple will update your purchase. They don't usually have a separate 4k version of a film lol
