tinyurl.com/cnl…vy5
tinyurl.com/ctm…xvw
tinyurl.com/cnj…phh

Thats the 3 short URLS to them.

You save a further 27p by buying the two towers from this site.

Also the boxset is available @ £38.99 from Play.com. This comes with additional features as outlined in my post on the first page.

£9 for all 3 from Sainsbury
Not for the extended editions.
Why is this being voted cold? Would be nice to hear from who votes cold as to why this is so. Would help me establish what is wrong for them.

Oh and play.com have the trilogy for £38.99 delivered in one boxset.
Great deal, although i have already bought it from amazon for £37.74 which is arriving tomorrow.
I for one am hoping for all 3 under £15, £30 for all 3 is way too high. No offence intended.

Not for the extended editions.

Still £21-29 cheaper than this. Just to keep kids quiet for £9 is well worth the missing extras.

Im still on the hunt, if i find it anywhere i will be sure to post it up. However the extended editions seem to be a lot dearer then the regular editions everywhere i look. I found the 3 theatrical editions for just under £7 each but thats not really a "deal" in my eyes.

But you can keep them quiet EVEN longer with the extended editions!
I've got the blu-ray discs (not extended) and the extended dvds. I'll wait until the extended blu-rays get cheaper!

I think everyone looking at a HUKD for the extended versions already knows the price difference and specifically wants the extended versions.
does anyone know if these include all the extras of the boxset. from the pictures it says these are 2 disc editions but im pretty sure the big boxset is 15 discs. thanks for any answers.
From what i can read on play.com the "trilogy" boxset has the films spread across 2 blu-rays each so thats already 6 blurays just for the films.
Heres a complete breakdown of the 15 discs in the trilogy boxset.

I agree with Dan these are only 2 disc sets. Amazon even describes them as one disc extended. The box set is worth the additional 899 at the moment imo but I will wait for the set to come down to about 30, maybe when these are out tomorrow.
anyone (and this would be loads of people) that still have the EE DVD editions will have all those extras apart from the disc 5 on each film - Behind-the-Scenes Documentary Created by Filmmaker Costa Bote

So this offer is a much cheaper way of getting the EE editions on blu if thats what you want.
good deal but i would like to get them in the boxed set lol
good price
Oh dont forget that you can get the following

2.02% @ TPCB for the £38.99 boxset from Play.com
4% @ quidco for the singles @ asda direct
great deal but I'd go for the box set. it's a thing of beauty. EE is the way to watch these films. beautiful
And my axe!

Seriously though, this is a nice deal. The extended editions aren't for everyone, since those with low attention spans have outright refused to watch them with me, but I think they're the best versions. Great series of films, and just in time for seeing the first in The Hobbit series!

I agree, it's one of the best looking box sets out there in my opinion. Worth every penny.
This saves me using my 20% off voucher at HMV. Now what to spend the voucher on?

Many thanks OP.

EDIT: Also do these three blurays have every disc that the triple set does? Im finding it hard to find any info about them

No they dont, they only include the film and the extras that come with the films. Check my post on first page about the boxset and it will show you there the "missing" discs. Its all the DVD's from the boxset that are not included, i believe.

There is very little info on the net about these blu rays. It looks like the UK has been shafted again with America getting the full 5 disc sets and we get the 2 disc sets. Absolutely disgraceful.
Hopefully this will provide a kickstart for the boxset to come down in price.

Personally I've already sold my extended DVD editions and am waiting for a good deal on the full blu ray set, I'm sure there are other people doing the same.

Are the extended versions really worth it ? , what is missing ? , more action ? or more midgets talking ?.

Yes, you did with the DVD, and will have to for the blu rays. The cut between them is horrible too, surely they could have taken the time to find a natural break somewhere +- 5mins, but they dont, it just suddenly drops.

I won't buy stuff like this anymore after wasting so much money on DVD extended versions at megabucks. In 5 years time these blurays will be out of date and we will all be wanting gold-ray or whatever the next big thing is.

Good deal though if you want them.
I think it will be a bit less than 5 years.... techradar.com/new…372

For me though, I have the extended edition on DVD already, so have nearly all of the extras, should I ever want to watch them.

Going to be keeping an eye on these and see if they go down in price so that I can nab them, then swap out the main film discs with my current DVD counterparts, leaving me with a nice big box set.

I know you have to with the Boxset of them, as the description on HMV clearly states the Film is split in 2. However i dont know about the single film blu-rays since no 1 can find any description about them at all.
Extra money is worth if for the Boxset! Stunning thing.

Nope, blu ray is around to stick, it's not going to phase out in less than 5 years.
that's what they said about dvd's just a few short years ago.

...bit of a bold claim to make seeing as it's a bit of a failure really. Loads of shops that used to sell Blu's have cleared them out...DVD was a massive success, Blu-Ray not so much...but I still love it!!

Huh? What are those "loads of shops"? Every shop that I've been into expecting to see selling blu-ray, I have. I don't see how it can be considered a failure at all.

Oh and btw, does the boxset have extra extras that these individual ones don't? I nearly bought them today in Asda.

Edited by: "jk12324" 9th Dec 2012
Asda are still doing these for a tenner each. Bargain. None available online, but I got all three today in Oldham store for £30
