Pretty good. Next cheapest I could find was £12.98

Just in case any one is unsure (as was I) this is the Theatrical Cut, with the other discs being extras. Still great price!

While this is a good price for the theatrical releases I really would recommend that peeps pay the bit extra for the extended versions. They are not just your typical 'special added bonus scenes' affair, they are a much better cut of already fantastic movies, and from what I have read its the versions that both the cast and director would prefer peeps to watch and having viewed them many times its obvious why.

PS - Anyone know when they are coming out in HD...its about time they did!!

cant see them ever coming out in HD since so many problems with who will pay the rights and all, I may have link if i can find it to extended version which i think was on sale on another site last week... so watch post closely... but at the moment appears a good buy..

I second buying the Extended versions. If you like the films enough to buy them you really should get the extended versions. They are just the superior versions of the films. Plus the extras on the extended DVD are the best you can find on any film out there.

I love the idea of extended versions .... like they aren't long enough to start with! Tolkien really threw the kitchen sink into his nonsense tales and most of it is in the movies making them nearly as tedious as the books. There are better things to do with your life than watching this hokum, seriously.

If someone else enjoys a film\book that I think is dreadful then they are the lucky ones, whereas I have wasted time in my life they havent. So yes, if you hate these movies there are certainly better things to do with your life, however if you loved them and havent seen the extended edtions then get them, you will love them even more.

Oh and just to second you also, yes the DVD extras on the extended are just fantastic. A friend of mine who isn't a particular fan of the films, she classifies them as 'alright like', watched the extras with me and was rapt by the making of type documentaries of each movie.
