Not great reviews. Most constructive reviews say it's got a noisy hard rive recorder and the 1080p setting only shoots 15 fps and that it suffers from any but bright daylight. I'll pass for that money. I know of nothing better as I'm shopping for the same.

Bought the 8 camera version of this last year for £370 from maplin. All good except very noisy recorder.

I would get something that can support more than 4 channels, as sooner or later you'll probably want to add more cameras.

The sensors are a reasonable size, which should help in low light (if they are any good).

I think Lorex often sell rebranded Dahua stuff. This appears to be a HD-CVI based system(high def composite over coax) rather than IP based. HD-CVI and other types of analogue HD cameras are a fair bit cheaper than IP cameras, and I wouldn't be surprised if you could find a comparable system a bit cheaper.

the last one is at £309.99 ;-o

I'm looking for a camera and recorder kit. I need 3 or 4 high quality cameras. I'm looking at between £500 and £600. Any recommendations?

I would recommend HikVision kit. I am using one of their TurboHD systems and works spot on. Cameras are really clear HD and night vision is spot on too. For a three camera setup you're looking around £300.
From going into a lot of business premises I've noticed a lot of them use HikVision as well.
