I've never liked Lorus but the checkered black dial is quite appealing, got a bit of a Le Mans feel to it.

Have to admit, I quite like that one also

Says it was originally £100, never had a lorus watch before, anyone got any experience of them

Lorus are Seiko's ultra-budget, European, brand. I had a couple of them 30-ish years ago and I was unimpressed with them as the pieces I had were tinny and insubstantial. That somewhat put me off the brand but I fully accept that I may simply have been unlucky in the models I chose to buy, or that their standards may have improved massively over the years.

Had a Lotus for the last four years as a student (so it took a battering) but sadly had to replace it after the hands from two of the complications fell out. Nothing but love for the watch and will probably take this offer up!
