he calls almonds 'oll-monds'

eat less, lose weight for good.

saved you 6.99!
You lose nearly 7 pounds straight away
I've got about two dozen of these kind of books, I buy with good intentions and have a flick through on arrival but then that's it, they sit in a cupboard doing nothing.

Losing weight is simple, all us chubbys already know how to do it, problem is we're too lazy and too greedy. If I could eat healthier meals at set meal times, cut out alcohol and start that 'E' word I hate, I'd lose weight, simple.

For anyone trying to lose weight, download an app that let you make entry of what you eat/drink (ie myfitnesspal), you will be surprised on how badly you eat until you register the amount of calories you eat in a day. I thought I was not too bad, but in the past couple of years i put on 20 pounds in weight, and the only reason is that i was eating too much. TBH it's a bit of a constraint to enter every thing, but i was surprised to find every kind of products you buy in any supermarket in their database, and if you end up eating more or less the same stuff, it becomes easier. If you do exercise, you can offset the amount of calories you have burned against the total amount, so on exercise day you can a bit more or have some treats. I planned to lose 2 kg per month, so I can still eat decent amount of food. So far i have lost 4 kg so it is working for sure. The formula is simple, burn more calories than you eat, and you will lose weight

If only that were true. I’m fed up of hearing how losing weight is simply about exercising more and eating less...it’s not how much you eat, but what you eat.

Cut out sugar and watch the weight fall off - the only problem with this method is that 74% of all food on the supermarket shelves is laced with hidden sugar.

Typical chubby's response, I know I've been there and am partly still there, I weighed 24st at my heaviest, now I am 18st but have been down to 14st at one point... Most Chubby's are fat because they find excuses... ie I can't workout because I have no gym clothes, or it's too cold, or I don't have time.... I can't eat healthy because I don't have time to cook, healthy food is too expensive, supermarket food is full of sugar.... Do you see where I am going with this? When I was fully commited at losing weight I went fully Vegan and arranged a local fruit and veg shop to do a delivery twice a week, I got a box full of fruit and veg for £15 twice a week and other than porridge that's pretty much all I ate, roasted vegtables, stir fry's and loads and loads of fruit, I was losing 4-5lbs a week without fail....

If you want to lose weight, cut the sh!t, stop the excuses and do it !!!

Loving the honesty with this comment and also what you say is very true. Also to quote Nina Myskow "move more, eat less".

Also, if you read my response, you’ll see that you’ve implemented exactly what I advocate - by eating mostly vegetables, you’ve eliminated the sugar in your diet.

Seriously, sugar is the new tobacco - mark my words, in 15-20 years, there’ll be health warnings all over the stuff.

You can't just blame sugar tough, of the three main food group, sugar, fibre and starch they are all essentially sugar, they all start as sugar molecules. Not all sugars are bad, glucose sugars we all need, it's in virtually everything we grow, including veg, lactose some say is good but personally I stay away from dairy as I believe cows growth fluid shouldn't be consumed by humans. If however your generalisation was aimed at fructose then I couldn't agree more, there is currently a huge trend towards being vegan or even flexitarian and part of me thinks these people are doing this just to be healthy so their really should be a term for people that avoid fructose and processed foods as that are killing the planet.

I think we agree with each other though, my only point was that overweight people know why they are overweight and know how to change that but we're a creature of habit and convenience.
Fibre, starch and sugar are very distinct beasts. They are all metabolised by the body in completely different ways.

If you haven’t already, you might want to watch some of Dr Robert Lustig’s lectures on YouTube. Or even better, watch the documentary ‘sugar coated’ on US/Canadian Netflix. It’s truly eye-opening.
