sent mine back as all 4 disc's looked like they had been walked over then thrown like a Frisbee for Hmvs mut.

great game though!!!!!

Yup. Looks like all games in the clearance are pre-owned...
Got 2 myself this and last week and other people I know had the same thing going on.
Don´t they have to state if games aren´t new??

TBF. I think they have just asked all their stores to send them everything they were going to chuck in the bin.

I would think so, I had 1 game sealed the other a few days later box was cracked but was 2 squid so what can you expect!
£4 for this game is great if it works!! No vote from me

I've received three sealed games in clearance aswell as a sealed controller pack.

(Sin & Punishment, Lost, Animal Crossing with wii speak, and kung fu panda/indiana jones with controller)

There were plenty of others that didn't arrived sealed, however the discs were all in excellent condition. I think they are more likely to be opened shop floor stock that's been returned to the HMV warehouse.

shows up in basket as £34.99

yep, back to 34.99 and 21 to 28 days for delivery

had just made up my mind to get this as well

fantastic game. this is what final fantasy XIII should have been. though the lead chick in final fantasy is far more attractive than the dude in this one.

The reason these keep coming back in stock is people keep returning them because they are USED. So people ordering because they are back in stock and then expect to get different to the previous people are mad because they are not only getting used game but they are getting the exact same one.

The fact HMV is STILL selling these games as new even after having AT LEAST 20 returns in the space of a couple of weeks because they are used is just pathetic.

I cannot wait for these cowboys to go into administration, Only then will I buy anything from them, in their pathetic give away sales before they close up shop. Knowing HMV though their closing down sales would probably still be priceir then the new items in better stores.

They aren't used, they're opened shop floor stock.

They ARE used. The ones I got can´t just be from opened shop floor stock. The discs, manuals and cases look they have been used for ages.

If NOT used: excellent value. Took ages to complete,

I bought 20 games over the initial course of the clearance sale, and certainly, while some of the cases weren't in great condition the discs and manuals were all in excellent condition. Very few had scratches beyond what you'd expect from being put on a shelf for a while. Some of the games were even sealed FFS!

luck then co's the 25 discs I ended up with, each one was dirty and scratched.

Great game, worth 10 times this price. Only negative about it is the number of the random encounters can get a little annoying (especially on the 3rd disc).

Hot!

They bloody well were used. The one I got had a scruffy manual that had obviously been read. wasn't just wear from being in a drawer. and the disc was scruffy dirty and scratched.

Kid yourslf all you like. Show me proof they were NOT used. Shop floor stock does not get in this condition, they take care of the disc by putting it in the manual e.t.c, the scratches ont he disc I recieved was from careless wear and tear through 'use'. There is more proof that they are used then that they are ex floor stock.

You can trust these cowboys all you like, but thats all it is, you blindly trusting them.

It seems like you may have had bad luck with whatever you received.:(

I've had a few arrive and, like the others, they're copies that look to have been recalled for redistribution / online sale. My boxes were scuffed, but the innards were fine.

Also even if it was shop floor stock they should say the products are not sealed. When you buy in a shop you can see that it is unsealed before you purchase it and can make the decision to buy it or not. Online you should be given the same information.

eL Oh eL!

I don't trust them. Most of my stuff arrived unsealed which i was furious about. However, what is undisputible is that some of the stuff was microsft and nintendo sealed. I ended up trading most of it in at HMV for as much as i payed, and used said credit to buy a nice selection of vinyl, books and DVDs.

And no, I'm not kidding myself. In the past i've bought new games from HMV that were unsealed and when i asked to see the disc it was scuffed and scratched so i refused it.

This stuff is a mix of sealed, unsealed but in excellent condition, and unsealed and in poor condition games. If they have sold you a scratched game, complain to HMV. If they have sold you a second hand game, complain to trading standards, as that is misrepresentation of what they are selling.

I entirely agree!

Half the problem i had was that for some of the items it was economically unsound to post them back (which you have a right to do through Distance Selling Rules, which permit you return them within seven days of receiving them). It would have cost me £15, so i traded them in.

Actually the address to send games back to is Freepost, and if they give you a non freepost address they will refund the postage also.

I sent mine back and did not realise it was freepost till i got to post office for some reason. I had already wrote a note on return slip saying it cost me £1.70 to return it and they refunded me for the delivery i never spent. So i ended up getting extra.

Best to send them back, then one day they might actually get the message and stop ripping people off. Or they might go into administration and then blame the online sellers like Play and Amazon for killing highstreet stores when the truth is a lot of it is because their service is terrible, and their prices are extortion.

They can blame the extra costs of the highsteet all they like but when an online store can sell a DVD boxset for £20-40 cheaper and still make a profit I am pretty sure HMV could sell it £10-£30 cheaper then what they are selling it for at least.

I would remember that for future reference, but as i said, only a few things were sealed so i'm unlikely to buy from them again.

This is a long boring 'old-school' grind-fest... so you wanted FF13 to be like FF8?
