Love listening to classic radio shows, first came across this site when the one & only Boz posted it back in April, they have loads of Free shows to download from all kinds of genres eg Kids, adventure / comedy, detective, drama, horror / suspense, thriller & western.
Obviously not going to be everyone's cup of tea, but with the price of audio books, this might help you while away a few moments of pure nostalgia for free.

We are happy to offer thousands of free old time radio shows for download or stream. Once downloaded, hear these free OTR shows on your computer, MP3 Player, or copy them to a cd to listen anywhere!

Before the era of television, sitting around the radio was popular home entertainment. Radio broadcasts starred voices from top-name radio and film stars. During the golden age of radio, networks broadcast kids, adventure / comedy, detective, drama, horror / suspense, thriller, western. and more to the American radio listeners. Now known as "old time radio ", enjoy these nostalgic recordings free of charge on our website

I've downloaded loads of stuff from here but just to add a note of caution the site was down for ages as they had a virus problem, if they're back up I'm sure they must have sorted it but might want to scan content just in case.

Thank you, this is great.

Hot !!!

are these not mostly american shows?

This looks brill thanks

Some good stuff here if you like that sort of thing. Think I'll give the Sherlock Holmes stuff a go. Heat added.

fourble.co.uk/pod…sts has a lot of good stuff (and even more too). You can get an RSS feed, where you get a download every day/week/month.

OMG - Journey Into Space - that's how old I am.

The principal sounds good, but when you go to the site it is useless. Nearly all Yankee stuff. Finally found a listing for the goon show, but when I clicked on the link it was 404 not found!

Thanks a henry for your link, some good stuff on there, like the news quiz and dead ringers.

Loads of radio shows and stories on youtube.
Philip. K. Dick.

There's a few Elric books read with sound effects.

Ed Reardon's Week - series 12 is on bbc extra next week.
Old Harry's Game is also good.

Radio is probably under-estimated.
