Found these in my local Edinburgh Co-op tonight. No idea if national but I filled my boots and left with whatever I could carry. In my defense Scotland never has a deal on booze so best to stockpile in situations like this.
Still a few bottles left there but could be worth checking the drink aisle if your in a co-op just in case.
White was £5.99 to £1.62
Red £6.99 to £1.50
Another red was £8.99 to £2.25

For types please see images I will upload thanks

What a find!! Hot

A surplus of wine in Scotland. I don't believe it.

Sadly not that cheap in my local. The linda mora was reduced to £3something so I bought a couple of bottles.

Seen outside Edinburgh Coop tonight

I didnt think it was legal to have drink offers in Scotland in order to protect the Scots from the Scots?

It's not legal to reduce the price per bottle as a reward for bulk buying. ie The unit price has to be the same if you were buying 1 bottle or 100 bottles

That's why we don't have 3 for £10 in the shops but they can reduce the price to £3.33

Another poor piece of legislation from the rather useless SNP government.

Pretty sure this is illegal?

Pretty sure it's all coop lines reduced as the stores are currently in the process of swapping to mccolls so they have to sell all the coop lines off before whatever date it's set to close for refurb

Terrible point, badly made.

It's actually a good idea.

Some of the Southern supermarkets accept it e.g. ASDA and Morrisons by reducing the cost of the individual bottle (e.g. £3.34) or case (instead of 2 cases of beer for £18, they make one £9) to match the offers elsewhere. Waitrose, Tesco and Sainsburys don't.
With Aldi/Lidl is isn't an issue as they are just a good price.

There is something seriously wrong if one can't flog alcohol in Scotland without reducing the price.

It's only co-op stores currently being transferred over to mccolls retail group

seems store specific

Any chance of a list of stores switching to McColls?!

In what way? It's a useless piece of legislation as indicated by this deal and the others mentioned in the thread. Legislate against multi buys etc but the shops can just change the price to work out the same.

Has the minimum price legislation actually come into effect yet? I know there is a ban on offers and multi buy promotions....
