You're right. They don't come with a heater. Most tanks don't unless it's part of a bundle. You can get decent fish tank heaters for under a tenner if you look around though.

According to reviews the filter is hopeless and will need replaced straight away as fish die with it.The cabinet for this is down to £21 as well and looks quite stylish.

Just leave the fish in the sea and buy a lava lamp if you need stupid blobs of colour moving around.

good to see they care about the fish. Maybe it is so you need to replace them every few weeks at their stores.

Nice. Wanting to set a fish tank up.

Consider an under gravel filter if replacing

Are you from the 1980s? There are plenty of much better filter systems than under gravel ones these days and I've had experience of most of them.

Good deal for a starter tank that and far better than a goldfish bowl or other tiny tanks that some people still use.

It's been a long time since I set one up to be fair. In a tank of that size I would have thought most filters that are in the tank are going to struggle unless you spend reasonable money, and external filters are expensive (for this set up). Under gravel does work, but I admit a bit antiquated

EDIT: I never had luck with anything else other than Eheim

Worth a read

Tempted to get one just so I have a dumbo fighter.

I got this one at home. It comes with heater so it can be use as tropical tank. The filter is ok but very noise. Overall it is a good starter tank, and the price is good when it is on sale.

I suspect the people who complain about the filter may just dump the fish in straight away without cycling the tank and blame the filter when the fish die.

I don't have a sucker fish but the glass is still very clean after a few months. I think it is because of the LED lighting.

Indeed, I'm into a month now on a new tank... sigh, hopefully too many week yet.

That said, not killed a fish yet

[edit] fishless cycling on the new tank... all previous tanks have been the same...

Just did this and it says it takes upto 14 days for them to post it out to you

The fish die in a new setup because stupid people don't seed the filter or cycle the tank first. Filters or media don't need replacing just rinsing in tap water. I've had the same sponges and ceramic media in my fluval fx5 for about three years.

In tank water, not tap water that would be silly haha

I've got the next size up to this tank at my place. 64 litre, been up and running a couple on months and home to corys platys neons and a lovely betta.

Does it come with the fish?

I was just about to correct you. Pleased I didn't have to. Would have been a shame to let your informative comment be dealt a big blow with the small but major mistake.

don't love how they show a tank that small with that many fish in it! that's some serious overstocking - especially if you are using the bundled filter!

Could I use this tank to store lobster in for a few hours?

Yes, a very small one

absolutely not. Lobsters require fast running water and cool temperatures.

The filter keeps flinging my fish at high speeds towards the tank, it's took out two of my fish Penguin Tetra. The water should be sound, I took a sample of the water into the fish store and had it tested before I bought some fish and they gave it the okay.
