Low Gas & Electricity tarrifs fixed till Feb 2015 + £30 cashback @ EDF

Found 10th May 2013
On hearing from my energy supplier that they are raising their tariffs I found and signed up with this great deal.

They came in the top 3 of cheapest suppliers on the energy comparison sites with the 1st company having terrible reviews and very little difference between the 2nd and 3rd.

Benefits :

1. no change in tariffs until Feb. 2015
2. If elsewhere you could save at least £1 a week (£52 a year ) EDF will tell you.
3. no termination fee
4. a reward every month.
5. £30 Cash back using the link below:

I beg to disagree. I was with EDF for nearly 2 years until last autumn when I moved over to First Utility. I had no problem with EDF customer service and must say I contacted them many many times.

Please google Spark Energy and read the customer reviews before you sign up.

not voted on the deal just saying people should be aware
like said the cashback works(via moneysupermarket i think)
price promise work and as far as i know the tariff does
just check previous threads before you sign up unlike me

Do I need to signup for this club?

Unit rate for this deal is 12.57p I believe NPower is cheapest at present under Energy Online 14 (fixed until August 2014) - rate inc VAT is 10.31p per unit - Remember all suppliers also charge a daily standing charge so make sure you understand it all before you move etc!

I've been with EDF for coming upto 3 years and have never had a single issue with them. never had anything but great customer service and even won a couple of decent prizes on the monthly EDF Thankyou's. The quote shows I would be £4 better off on this tariff then the one I am on, so will look into it more when I get to my laptop. thanks op

Moved from EDF to OVO late last year, they were cheapest on gas & electricity. Not sure if this has changed since then, but no complaints from me about them.

These are the steps to take to get the best deal for you:

1. Call your current supplier and ask for you annual energy consumption in KW/h
2. Calculate what your total annula bill is with your current supplier
3. Use various comparison sites to identify say the top 5 cheapest providers
4. Read online reviews - my cheapest bill was with Spark Energy but they have terrible reviews.
5. Remember fixed price deals may very well be better in the medium to long run.
6. Having decided on your new provider use the link above to get your £30 cashback.

Good luck.

Must be a mixed bag then... I was with them and they were an absolute disgrace... messed up my direct debit so ended up charging me full rate... ended up leaving them early and they admitted they had screwed up... waived the £60 early release fee and gave me £50 compensation for the endless calls I made that were ignored. Not the only one to find EDF ludicrously bad either...

Although Spark were THE cheapest supplier around for me, terrible feedback put me off, don't have that much time to spare on CS...

His name is Tony...cause he won the tony 2 prizes there was!!

lol. no, I don't work for them. I won a family pass to the eden project and a family pass to Alton Towers. They're the only 2 decent prizes I've won in almost 3 years though. More than some?

2 prizes in 3 years? That's very good. The last time I won anything was many many years ago at school! oO

Been with EDF for about 18 months. They completely screwed up my initial readings (swaping the gas reading for the electric reading) then took about 7 months to sort out the mess.

Let's face it, the gas is the same, the electric is the same, the only thing that counts is how good they are at administration and what they charge ... and they are (in my opinion) pretty awful at the former and very expensive of late. Their website is a confusing mess too. I plan to leave them very soon.

I am on this Blue Price Promise tariff, it was only £20 a year more than the cheapest tariff available to me.

I have been with most of the suppliers at one point or another and the only problem I've ever had is with SSE who decided to review my direct debit by calculating my annual usage by taking the usage on my largest quarters bill (my winter bill) and multiplying it by four. This increased my direct debit from £20 per month to £50 per month.

SSE did that to me, but I rang them up and got it reduced as wasn't paying for something i hadn't even used yet, i changed supplier a few months later. now with EDF which is due to end in october

Worst customer service of all the Utilities
