I put a Camelcamelcamel alert out for this watch, with a low price trigger...thinking ahead to when my beloved pebble could finally give up the ghost at midnight on 31/12/17.
It was £179.99 a few days ago.
Worth a punt or are there others out there worth looking at?
Cheers

No Heart Rate sensor is the only part of the watch that stops me from buying it...

Also available in silver with silver strap for women for the same price. Good deal. silver womans click here

Really tempted, but I really can't stand the 'flat tyre' aspect of these watches. Need to get one with a full fascia.

Heat for the find, though!

Yeah, a nice looking watch let down by the flat tyre face. I would have bought it a while back if not for that.

There is a few of the fossil smart watches in the Argos sale also. I'm thinking of getting the other half one for Xmas.

I'm after an android wear watch with nfc for android pay. Don't suppose this model has it?

If people want a smart watch with heart rate monitor then the misfit vapor just released is a very good price point (£185), also waterproof and GPS enabled but no nfc unfortunately. It's actually a company owned by fossil, so hopefully same quality!

Alas no. In the UK, the only ones with android pay are Huawei watch 2 Huawei watch 2 classic and the tag heuer modular connected

Do these watches have a long battery? It says 1 day usage, seems a bit short to me. Do you have to charge it EVERY day?

Echo your thoughts. Don't know when manufacturers will listen.

Heat for the price though

I have the LG Urbane which I've used for 2 years this Christmas, I find i get a full 24 hours of charge from it.. a little less now with its age (needs battery replacement) but I also keep the charger on my bedside table so i charge it while I am asleep, but the charge is so quick that if you wanted to wear it while you slept too then you could plug it in the hour you get ready for work in the morning and it would be 100% when your ready to leave.

IMO the Pebble was best you would get about 5-7 days of battery.

we need a breakthrough in battery technology..

Yes, alas, everyday. Dont buy one unless you like gadgets. They are horrible in terms of battery life. Sometimes, not even 1d or half a day - when something goes rogue. Also, you can enjoy the fact that your android phone will likely lose/drop bluetooth repeatedly during the day, and googling for "why" is pointless.

Alas, its google quality which means zero. The software and UI on the device is horrible and buggy. Google does not care. And manufacturers have dropped like flies.

Additionally, its usually a special charger, so, if you go away for the night - you need to carry yet another charging device.

There are lots of free watch faces to play with - almost all are not long term or desirable, some are good.

Its great Fossil are commandeering the market, but all android wear watches are the same HW and SW, and its a real shame the technical issues are not resolved.

The samsung gear s2/s3 are better in terms of HW, and battery life is quoted as 2-3+d, but 1d only - even less for apple.

I think android wear watches at 50 pounds would be the approximately correct price. Fossil, being at the cheaper/fashionable end of the market (and I would not be negative to their quality - am sure they are as good as all the others). Even the 1500 pound Tag device is looking at a 1d lifespan.

I like the devices, but 1d battery life is really a shame.

Also, bear in mind the watches may not last more than 2-3y, since the battery is not replacable, and screens may eventually lose their brightness.

Will Pebble really stop working at the end of this year? - love my original Pebble Steel, especially once I added a decent steel bracelet.

I treid an Apple Watch 2 when they were on offer from Nike but could get along with it so sent it back.

Ditto. Steel bracelet makes it. This is the first I've heard about it stopping working, surely not?! Need to look into this.
Hot deal btw, getting it for dad for xmas

There is an update on google play that reduces reliance on pebbles servers.
Not sure if it the transition is complete though.

There is a blog somewhere that has info and progress to keep the pebble going.

Nothing compares to the pebble sadly.
My huwaei watch 1 is sat in its box and that is supposed to be one of the best implementations of android wear.
