First post peeps!

Went to my local Morrisons last night and saw two full HD LCD TVs. One's 26" for £150 and the other's 32" for £199.

Great prices if you ask me. I don't know if the TVs are that good, but the 32" one comes with four HDMI inputs and a Component input too (for those who've got a really old Xbox 360, like me).

I bought a 37" LCD TV from Sainsburys for £249 a few months back and that's been excellent. It even decodes 1080p with Component.

Response to post #1: My local store is Gloucester (maps.google.co.uk/map…771,0.027831&z=16).

Response to post #6: Those look like the right specs, and I think I saw an SRS audio sticker on the front too.

Those of you who're commenting on picture quality: try plugging in some HD input, like a BluRay player or a games console - take a look at the picture then. I think it'll be much better. The Freeview decoder in one of these is very likely to be cheap with simplistic decoding architecture. The TV I mentioned from Sainsburys has excellent picture quality from my Xbox 360. But then, I only bought it for games console stuff not to watch TV!

Are these in all Morrison stores, I went in the store in Woking yesterday and didn't notice anything, but then I wasn't really looking.

Can you confirm which store is your local?

There you go, your first head, welcome to HDUK(_;)

cheap price, my dream of 32 inches in the bedroom can now be realised!!! :o)

oO

I would go and check these out in person - not all 1080p panels are the same..... There must be a reason why our local morrisons chose to put a Toshiba in their display stand rather than one of the Lowry's....

that said I've had a signal booster and one of their tv/dvd portables and not been disappointed.

Are you referring to the TV or bragging ?

Or hoping?

I bought one of these to watch the football, but all the players look like matchstick men

Just rang all my local stores (Todmorden, Ramsbottom and Bolton) 37" is £379, 32" is £279. oO

tut dam that north south divide!!

I purchased one of these Lowry 26" LCD TV's about a month ago, it was dire, picture on skin tones was orange and it was not possible to correct it, sound and picture were out of sync.

Took it back, manager admitted that they had lot's of them returned.

Got a full refund.

AVOID.

You get what you pay for when you buy something like this, My friend has one and everything looks like they have been on sunbeds for a week. And changing picture settings never helped. Terrible TV IMO

Seriously, do not buy this TV, it really is a terrible television set.

I am amazed that Morrisons are still selling them, they should have been withdrawn from sale.

Yes, exactly because the TV doesn't really need to do any clever processing - just punch out the pixels in all the right places. I would get one of these as a "monitor" type thing - to use as a display for things plugged into it. Don't be too keen on using it for Freeview.

Thanks OP

We bought the 32inch and we are very happy with it

xxx

There was 1 left in the West 12 (London), only 26" though, I really wanted the 32"

I really don't understand all these complaints about orange people, the colour reproduction obviously isn't amazing but it's still very good and the sound is also in sync and very good for the money.

No worries! I'm glad I could share the deal with everyone. This deal: hotukdeals.com/dea…764 has a built in digital recorder.

Just got mine this morning! Excellent picture on Sky HD, seems almost as good as our Toshiba 42" which cost £1200!
No orange people? I'm sure Brand names costing lots more will be better but I don't have time to test millisecs response times or contrast ratios, because I actually HAVE a girlfriend

You da man!

I think the orange people are on Freeview. If you plug in something like a Sky HD box, your games console or a DVD player the picture should look great as much less decoding and image processing is done by the TV.

I have a girlfriend, but it's kind of my job to know about response times and contrast ratios.

bought a lowry 42" full hd 1080p tv today at stockton heath warrington for £280 and used my staff discount which made £ 252 now thats a hot deal !

Parkgate @ Rotherham

in stock

32" @ 199.99
26" @ 119.99 but not 1080p

Just purchased a 32" LCD TV Lowry one from my local Morrisons for £199.
The picture quality via the inbuilt tuner is a bit poor. I then connected it up to my SkyHD box and the picture quality vastly improved. The picture quality is as good as my Samsung LE40C580.
For the price and size its a good buy.

I bought one of these yesterday from Rochdale store for £199.99.
Have yet to set it up.
Looking at initial poor reviews was wondering whether to take it straight back.
This tv is for bedroom where we have sky magic eye so will that mean that the pic should improve?
