Shame Tennis is so expensive , Golf is now cheaper ! Then we moan and complain we have no British winners when most free tennis courts are closed ,sad , many hate the UK so must make a profit out of this state of affairs , you have to play loads and loads of money here ,Wimbledon home of British Tennis ,time to sell it to the Chinese , Tennis here was once a universal game ,now memberships are stupid prices ,the amount of covered areas are diminishing , when you do join a club you cannot get a court as the pros are teaching en masse 6 yr olds as their parents or carers await in their Range Rovers ,the ones who bought the free parks for peanuts , to take them home to rest before more mind control !

Don't forget Tennis for Kids

Time to dust off the old tennis stick

It doesn't look like you have to. Once you get to the session selection page, a lot of sessions state "You can borrow our rackets if you don’t have your own, just come prepared to hit a few balls and have some fun." But double check your session in case only a few are.

Do you have to bring your own rackets?

Yes, it was free last year. The children got a new Babalot tennis ball and a new Davis Cup racket. I liked the idea that you could not get the new racket until you finished all six lessons, it was a real incentive :)

I`m not sure which club/centre you attended so cannot comment on this exact incident but you cannot generalise with the statement of saying the sessions are not well organised and the instructors do not have the skills? This should only be run by Level 3 LTA coaches and they should have the skill and they should be well organised. If you found the one you attended was not I would change club/location if interested in learning/attending. Also the comment about nothing you won`t learn from playing outside, well it is an introduction session that should go over the basics but should be in a structured well delivered format that will be more beneficial than just playing oustide, unless you have tour own mini tennis court/net red balls and coaching knowledge. I have noticed this year it is £25 so I know for a fact that many good quality coaches and clubs are running the initiative.

could not agree more, instructors have no skill set in handling kids or tennis and had to remove my kid when started feeling it was getting dangerous as he could of fallen with no supervision, would'nt not recommend and left us :S worried ...

Thanks for the heads up, booked

Thanks. Decent offer.

Tickets for Queens Tennis Final (Monday) £10! @ LTA

Since the final has been postponed to tomorrow (Monday 13th June 2011) tickets are now only £10. Providing you can get the day off work!

Tears of celebration perhaps.

Still available at the gate tomorrow, will go early tomorrow :)

Cry like a girl?

I suspect Murray only takes this minor event seriously so he has an excuse as to why he failed at Wimbledon. You'd think that 'a strain picked up at Queens' would wear a bit thin after using the same excuse for a third time.

Glad to see James Ward the Englishman drop out, let's hope a Scotsman can do what he couldn't :)
