Lucky charms, Applejacks, Captain Crunch £1.50 at Tesco

Found 15th Mar 2014
As title, General Mills American cereals (Applejacks, Captain Crunch and Lucky Charms) were at £1.50 today in Tesco Extra Kings Lynn. That's 60-75% off of the standard usual prices.

There were lots of boxes in bins near the store entrance, and more in the American food section.

Enjoying the E-number boost as i type.

They weren't marked up for clearance, were marked up half price (although much less than...) and have dates of May/June.

Now that's a better price.

Haven't seen Applejacks in my local one but this would be a result if they do have them at this price.

I think it should be banned to moan about a product when it's the consumer that is the problem.. Don't buy it if you don't want it...

I had Lucky Charms last year, they are awful!

Thats a fair point but a lot of people are uneducated about this type of thing. Most companies putting low fat this low fat that then pumping a load of sugar into their products. Fat isnt the problem its sugar! Sugar should have the same warnings as smoking on the packet

Will have to check this at my local

And I doubt you ever will, every Tesco I've been to lately has been selling off the American stuff. Got myself 12 Pack Wild Cherry Pepsi for £6

They are banned from being made in the UK, that's why we have to pay £5 to get imported ones, which is at least as ridiculous.

Gawd, someone who understands.... a treat, as in don't just eat these with melted ice cream instead of milk, but have a bowl occasionally, and it'll do you very little harm.

I suspect we'll get less and less American stuff at Tescos now that they're shutting down their US operations.

Cancer in a box

It takes approximately 30 minutes of running to burn off the calories consumed by a bowl of Lucky Charms

Have to disagree, I think they're lovely.

I bought the fruit loops last year. Never again. They were more like pure sugar. Personally, I think that American cereals are awful. Still vote hot though because it is a brill price if you like them. LOL.

This isnt in all stores sadly

I paid 9+ pound for lucky charms last year in selfridges, tasted different from childhood but was okay I guess

If there's one thing worse than sugar, it's adults calling other adults uneducated because a cereal didn't meet their sugar approval levels.

At £5 a box (unless you live in Kings Lynn) I very much doubt anyone is going to get morbidly obese by eating a few bowls of the stuff, but I'm not a sugar expert so I may be wrong.

That's when a refreshing can of coke hits the sweet spot afterwards!

you realise in terms of calories they really aren't that much worse than numerous UK cereals you probably feed your kids right? Frosties 103 calories 18g sugar, coco pops 116 25g , sugar puffs 120 18g , lucky charms 110 22g . ( all based of a serving size of 1 cup without milk.)

Just bothers me that every post about this cereal attracts silly people that see the picture on the box and say oh my gosh what is this super sugar american crap oh my god i cant feed my precious children this poison when the next morning they feed their kids a bowl of chemically created sweeter covered pulped corn. blahhh

fabtastic

That's one way of looking at it. The other is that you burn off far more calories in a day than is in a bowl of lucky charms simply by being alive, even if you just sat in a chair all day. You need not make a specific effort to burn off everything you eat with running.

Another Tesco offer thats only store/region specific. Just checked and not on mysupermarket a Tesco but Ocado sell them but priced a@ £5 and they have the chocolate version for £5.50.

Great deal, paid a lot more for lucky charms in a American sweet shop recently

Why is it when anyone posts a deal regarding something sugary and sweet it causes a debate about what humans should be consuming!? This is a DEAL site people not a nutritional advice centre!

Went into Trowbridge store this evening, marked up on the shelf at £5, i scaned them at a self scan point & came up at £5.
I will look in again to see if they reduce them.
I've been eyeing them up for a while but I'm not paying a fiver.
I know they are not good for you, but a little of what you like once in a while as a treat don't hurt, its called moderation.

Tesco Cardiff £5!!
