"original" Lucozade?

It isn't. Pumped full of aspartame.

Suntory should rot in hell for this, and judging by their near-permanent discounting, hopefully they'll go bankrupt soon.

Vote with your wallets, if not your tastebuds, folks. Boycott this crap.

Diabetics used to use this stuff as a rescue for a hypo. Now, they can't. That's utterly reprehensible.

It’s the guys in the suits fault mainly as recipe wouldn’t have changed if it weren’t for them imposing a silly sugar tax!? I mean we can’t enjoy a btl of full sugar juice anymore but we can buy a massive bar of chocolate with zero sugar tax???
Loving the first world issues of my sugar juice aint sugary enough..

Frustrating isn’t it! I tend to use apple juice for a hypo now rather than Lucozade.

It's Suntory's fault. They could have left the stuff the same.
They saw an opportunity to make money through their own greed.

It isn’t an issue. Just add a table spoon of sugar and boom.
Wow, what a deal. Thanks for sharing this

With a 10p deposit when you took the bottle back to the pop man
Will stock up on pink lemonade for my gin mixer

I agree. Orange tastes awful now
The new version is horrible. Loved the original, tasted new version once and that was enough.
Old version used go remind me of my childhood and having a glass bottle of it when unwell.

True. However, there are plenty of alternatives.

Like what? Lucozade used to get the job done... fast. Now as well as the change in taste, it seems more wattery as well.

24 years insulin dependent diabetic.

Anything containing reasonable amounts of dextrose/glucose. They do 'energy shots' in various sports ranges. It's a gel, B & M sell them for 49p as one example. You can also get dextrose/glucose energy sweets. Dextrose and glucose having a high impact on blood glucose levels.

As opposed to something that was readily available in every corner shop and newsagent in the land. Great.

Really? I know some Diabetics but they tend to drink diet coke, something else loaded with aspartame.

The NHS recommends just something sweet. Something like Jelly Beans which you can get. Chocolate isn't recommended too much because the fat and proteins in it tend to slow the process of glucose into the blood stream.

There has always been some controversy surrounding the sweetener.

A lot of brands have actually replaced it behind the scenes with Sucralose.

I guess people with diabetes don't really have a choice when it comes to it within popular branded drinks. Especially if going out on a night out and drinking spirits and diet mixers, or just casually. A lot of the supermarket branded colas don't use it, but in most cases, they don't taste that great.
