One of my faves on the Gamecube, the sequel finally has a release date, 28th March. GAME has a stress ball thingy to be dumped on ebay or choked on by the dog but Tesco gives 500 clubcard points. That is £20 in deals methinks. EXPIRED NOW

pay the little extra and get it from GAME

game.co.uk/en/…500

you wouldn't receive it on launch day from tesco, will be a week or more late.

Rather wait a day or two save myself £3 and get 500 Tesco points

Hot

My copy of Ni No Kuni arrived on launch day.

Same with BLOPS2 and several other titles I've ordered from Tesco. I have it pre-ordered from GAME but I'd much rather have their bonuses and use it on something worthwhile than a stress ball I'll only shove in a cupboard.

lucky you, but if you read the ni no kuni tesco preorder thread you'll see that the vast majority of the people(me included) had to wait a week or more.

if it was A DAY OR TWO then fine but if the ni no kuni fiasco is anything to go by then it'll be a lot more than that.

I'm not going to vote even though its a good deal as the last few times ive ordered from Tesco direct they've messed the order up or its been late, Ni No Kuni was over a week late and even a £25 PSN card too close too 2 week for its arrival ! oO

I have my pre order with zavvi. Did it last march! £27, can't see it coming on the day with them. So may cancel and do it with tesco. Even with the bad reviews. I can wait so long as I get as cheap as I can. Can't see the price dropping within a very long time, with it being a Nintendo game.

Buy it for her

do tesco take money now or upon dispatch?

Now. Annoyingly.

I realise this is probably a good deal for the game, but paying £30 for any handheld game is madness IMO.

Wouldn't be much of a lesson to her if he buys it for her though... ;p

I revel in acting madly

why would anyone pay 30 quid for a 3ds game?

I too am also of the opinion that £30 is too much for a handheld. £15-20 is more fair. However, first party nintendo titles do retain a lot of their resell value unlike others where your happy to get a 10th of what you paid.

I believe there's a market for proper handhelds and their games certainly, but I'd only be prepared to pay up to £15 for a handheld game. The RRP of these new games seems..optimistic..when 360/PS3 games are easily available at around this price not long after launch.

I don't even remember the original getting a good reception on release.
Its fallen into the 'beloved' Nintendo franchise trap where everyone expects (or blindly pretends) to see brilliance.

I do love Nintendo and have bought every console for its exclusives, but I do remember this being the bargain bin game with the GC, I couldn't enjoy it at all (felt like a mario party mini game if I remember) so I think ill pass.

Why should the fact it's a handheld game mean it should cost half the price of a 360 game, including those which are substantially less entertaining?

30 notes on release is a pretty fair price for any AAA title.

Have to disagree with you here. My experience with tesco on pre orders has been excellent. Fifa 13 arrived the day before release date and black ops 2 arrived on release day. Great service in my opinion but maybe I have just been lucky.

I thought Luigi's Mansion was good, short as hell, but good.

Never played the original but was excited for this release because of the preview and trailer. I think you've gotten the wrong idea about this game.

Pre ordered 3 games in the last 12 months from tesco, including CODBLOPS 2 and all received on day of launch.

How do you get the 500 points. Doesn't show anything on the website for me.

Edit: ignore me I am blind

Game not that much better on pre orders as ordered that new super mario 2 on the 3ds and got it 2 days later

I got Skyward Sword two days before release from Tesco. I'm pretty sure everyone is **** at Ni No Kuni messing up their pre orders? Not really Tesco's fault

Yeah, I reckon the unexpected demand for Ni No Kuni caught a few retailers out.

I keep thinking whether I want to go ahead and get this.. It does look good, but I've still got a hefty load of games to sift through on both my 3DS and PS3.

Six brand new on PS3 and three started (bad habit of starting games then stopping).
Three started on 3DS, plus more to come (going to start on DS games such as previous Laytons/Phoenix Wright).

Might wait on a used copy...

That's wise of you - took me too many years to come to the same conclusion.

Game store is a better deal and are good on delivery where Tesco fail ice cold for me on this

Game or Tesco ,game or Tesco, there is Only one way to sort this out fight....I think ile just throw a coin err best of three.lol.

Yep many retailers had issues getting stock of Ni No Kuni.. check it up on the web

Now £31.99

I want to pre order this and Lego city undercover wii U then use a £10 off a £75 spend voucher. Wiill I get 500 points per game if they are on the same order?

Original Poster

Not sure about that, have done in the past.

Hmm... very good ratings from GAMES UK too in the latest issue

Don't listen to all the "Won't arrive launch day" nonsense! I preordered Diablo 3 from Tesco, got it 5(5!!) days before launch! And recently got Sim City on launch day, after only ordering on the Tuesday! Sure, it is possible delivery could be later, but in my experience, Tesco has been top notch!
